Uprating the Furby Suspension (bear with me)

Featured Replies

Ok, I know this has been discussed to death, but I'm now at the point of trying to make my mind up on new suspension for the Furby. I'm looking for 25-30mm drop I think (don't want the lax power effect or to be grounding all the time). I know several people (Ross, Mob etc) have the eibach vRS springs and koni adjustable dampers. Which dampers are those exactly, as I was trying to see how much they were?

I want reduced roll and better roadholding, however I'd like it is the ride were not too fracture-inducing, as I already have Octy 17"s on which have made it noticably harder, especially on poor surfaces.

The alternatives I've thought about are the eibach dampers matched to the springs (as Faboka has), or the eibach coilovers that seem to be available now. Thing is, I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to car mechanicals. I understand that coilovers give the ability to change the ride height, do they also allow you to adjust the damping?

I imagine people will say I should have rides in people's cars with different setups to see what they feel like, but that is easier said than done.

Whatever I get, I'll probably get them fitted at Awesome in Warrington as they're fairly close and I go that way often.

Any thoughts from anyone on the pros and cons of the various options, or any other suggestions?

Cheers

Duncan

I can't fault matching eibach springs and dampers together - they feel like they were made for each other... probably were as it happens! :D

As you have ponited out I have eibach TDI Springs and eibach dampers. Can't fault them. Good road holding and still has a nice ride. I would recommend them  But with the vRS springs as the TDI are a little soft.

How close are you to liverpool? ;)

For Koni adjustable dampers look for Ibiza TDi Sport 130 listing, same as.

As for Coilovers they can be adjustable for damping but not allways.
