Winter is fun!(for some of us)

Featured Replies

So, there have been few snowy days and freezing nights here. So, today me and my buddies went to improvised ice track. It's an old and abandoned parking lot near the border of town and we went there to have fun. I'm pretty fresh driver and until today I really hadn't experienced extreme snow and ice and what can I say: It's fun but only on closed parking lots :D

We tried different things, raced around the slippery lot and had lots of fun. Also, lots of experience. I learned what's the difference between universal all-year tires, studded winter tires and winter tires without studs. Difference is massive: It's damn slippery but studs really help out. And those all-year tires suck major *** since my friend crashed a Golf right in the curb screwing up front left wheel, steering rods, suspension and maybe even axle.I feel bad for him, really, because he didn't crash his own car.

Morale: Universal tires suck ***, if you want some kind of security, get studs and drive responsibly.

Anyone else have any winter storys?

Or stop being a chav as we call it over here :)

I had a pretty steep learning curve with snow/ice driving when I drove to Norway/Sweden/Finland last Feb!

Good tyres make a huge difference!

tesco car parks have always been good to get a feel of things in when it snows ;)

Getting caught in a whiteout while heading up a mountain track in the Highlands was quite exciting. The weather had been fairly pleasant when i started out, got almost to the top of the track and i couldn't see a thing. I could hardly tell when the snow had stopped either, as it took less than a minute for all the windows to get entirely covered in snow.

Finding the track on the way back down was interesting :D

About 20 mins later, it was sunny. Then it rained alot.

HAHA!!! It's crazy! So much snow!

There's a real storm going on here and it won't end anytime soon. Forecast says 3 days of joy and happiness.

I've been driving the whole day. It's crazy how fun driving with no visibility and slippery roads can be. The snowfall is so severe that I don't know about tomorrow, will I be able to get it out of garage or not. In half a day I had about 30 cm of snow in front of my garage doors. And it's getting worse as I speak. Btw, I also made a snowman and had a snowfight.
