I want better headlights for my vRS. Any suggestions?

Now where did I put that Search button? I know it's around here somewhere...

It's either deja vu or Groundhog Day; not sure which but it's definitely one of the two.

OEM= Original Equipment Manufacturer.

They mean to get "Skoda" HID - either include them when ordering the car or get the dealership to fit them for you.

Might try the Philips Extremes first then as may be cheaper option. GUys what is OEM HID by the way. SOrry for dumb question lol. Just if i do end up going to skoda garage and asking for them would be cool if i know what to ask for.

Are the Philips extreme dip beam and main beam or just one of those?

I'm pretty sure unless you have pocket fulls of money retro fit OEM HID's isn't an option...... £500 option on a new order but something silly like £1000-2000 to retro fit inc. the washers and self levelling.

As Steve has mentioned above have a search as this subject is a pretty common one on the fabia forum. ;)

hi, i got a hid (xenon)conversion on my vrs with white led side lights. look good an very bright 100% road legal

No it isn't and it's also f**king annoying in the fabia as they don't have projectors or a beam blocker in front of the bulb.

Can we also discuss which remap is best, which intercooler to get and what the best tyres are please?

Also don't forget to discuss what car you had today ;)

I can never eat whole ones

I overtook a V12 engined vehicle today... ok so it was a truck and I was on cruise at 60mph, but you know...

Still I'm sure all fabia can beat M3, Civics, Cossies, cooper S, octy vrs, an enzo and last years F1 cars around silverstone, plus whatever else I've missed off

I'll have to correct you there fella....... I think it's the 2006 F1 cars not last years that the fabia vRS leaves in it's dust.

My two-penneth.

I find the standard Fabia headlights amongst the best of any car I've owned or driven. If you do feel the need to improve them then Philips Extreme +80% or similar are about the common-sense limit. Yes, you can plough thousands into HID's, or risk breaking the law by fitting after-market ones which may be more dangerous than slightly dimmer lights if the oncoming guy you just dazzled ploughs head-on into you. We all can be occasionally guilty of spunking money on our cars for the sake of it, or as I often see in people (especially in the Subaru community) for the sake of bragging about what we've got and how much it cost. Your car, money and choice, but my old head is much wiser these days, and my money is better spent in places which will earn even more of it rather than pay for the houses of blokes on eBay and owners of tuning companies.

With regards to Octy II headlights, they NEED HID's as the halogens in them suck. The missuses car has the worst headlights ever, even worse than my old VW Corrado, which was BAD ! The Philips improved those to acceptable, but I think Skoda designed the headlight to only take HID, then fitted halogen hoping everybody would pay lots of cash in options at purchase.

WRT remaps, anyone whom knows their stuff and can do a good BESPOKE map, not a generic flash. Mine was done by Jabba, but there's plenty to choose from.

As for tires, Vredestein Sessanta first, Vredestein Ultrac second, Goodyear F1 Assymetrics third.

PM Shifty, I'm confident he's got a surefire solution to your requirements:D

That's if he's still got it!

A little extreme but would definitely solved the problem.

Philips Extreme are retrofit? I thought they were just normal replacement bulbs?

Yes they are just replacement, no hassle.

Also ne1 know if an 04 VRS needs H4 or H7 bulb?

can someone please explain this please? i drive a mk 5 astra h

thanks

Im tryin my hardest to find the website i read it on! I might be completely wrong but i will keep looking.

H7's

dont get phillips xtreme bulbs, i just did and they suck.

let me know if you find anything better!

Got three sets of X-Tremes from Powerbulbs - set each for vRS, VW golf and Audi a4. Two sets were excellent, the other significantly less so. Returned this set and the replacements were excellent.

So, there's a quality problem somewhere and this might just explain craig0031's "suck" comment.

I got a new new kitten colored hat from this one :D

And we've not even talked about the Mk2 Fabia vRS either!

Oh what fun :D

i have a code for powerbulbs.com for 10% off if anyones interested msg me

Also does anyone know a way to make my lights higher up, they seem to point straight down even on the highest setting?

im talking adjusting the lights under the bonnet not by putting weights in my boot!
