Fab VRS: Possible to disable ASR without the light on the dashboard illuminating?

Featured Replies

You tried leaving it on though, since you fitted the Allard pipe?

I can still easily spin the wheels with it on, this with a peloquin ATB too.. In fact it makes moderating the loud pedal far more tricky.

It may be marketed as a "safety system" but only a wally would consider it to be one in reality, even on a stock fabia....

I have to agree with all the previous posters about ASR being more dangerous on that off.

I've lost count of the number of times it's nearly got me t-boned while pulling out of junctions onto busy roads where I need to quickly get across and up to speed, only to have it decide there's not enough traction and cut ALL of the bloody power.

Turning the ignition off is absolutely spot on for describing what it does.

180 BHP through front wheels = very easy to spin wheels unintentionally but I bet I can control the spin a lot safer myself and keep going forward rather than just removing my foot altogether.... (as the ASR simulates)

It's fine once moving around and does kick in on bumpy or wet roads ok but for pulling away I always switch it off if I'm in any doubt about it cutting in when I don't want it.

Allard pipe doesnt seem to make any difference to ASR system IMO

On the Audi A2 from APS, you had to disable the ESP/ASR as it re-enabled after each stop. It happens I guess :)
