Honda given a month to sell F1 team or close

Featured Replies

I would like a left-field entry from Audi, Diesel F1 car anyone?

Nice idea, but with the limit set at 2.4l, 19,000rpm and normal aspiration (AFAIK) at the moment, they'd struggle! ;):D

A man can dream can't he lol

If the FIA made a new fuel limit for the race the diesel Audi might be just the ticket:D

Hardly a surprise. Toyota wont be far behind having p'd up the wall much more than Honda, and much less to show for it.

As for Redbull being safe, I wouldnt say so. The Owner of RB has always said it's simply a hobby, and not something he will bankroll forever.

My downfall order list would read as:

Honda

Toyota

Torro Rosso

Force India

Renault

Redbull

Williams

BMW

Mclaren

Ferrari

C'mon, a normally aspirated 2.4l diesel F1 car would be worth every penny for the comedy value alone.

And without a particulate filter it could cloud out the opposition as well :D

toyota is the richest car brand in the world, bar none...... so who,s leaving f1?

You'd be surprised how much pressure they are under to cut their F1 budget by the parent company as they are one of the highest spending under achieving teams after Honda.

Yep , and rich companies (and people) don't get their money by wasting it with little or no return.

I can see how Ferrari's motorsport program helps their sales a lot , but someone buying an Auris or Avensis isn't likely to be that influenced by a totally unrelated F1 car.

Given they've cut staff and big cheese's pay and bonuses, Toyota cant justify p***ing a few million up the wall running an F1 team when they have less to show for it than Honda did.

And those 2 always copy each other. No Honda, no need to compete.

Toyota have confirmed they will be in F1 in 2009
