Hi Sar

How are you?

A bit too over the top for me.............i think (& hope) we be looking at a sort of "Ford RS" type car from the 80's. Plastic wheel arches & sills............Spec, well either 1.4 Twin charger with 160-180 BHP or the 1.6 T/d with 135-150 Bhp...............Hopefully 7 speeds DSG in both cases.

Mike

I like the look of both, to be honest!

Hi Mike

Oooh , I am fine , always am :D

Hope that you are too?

It to me , is just lacking a bit of "Character" , get it painted up , and we may be on to a winner!!!!!

But then , it is new so hopefully more plans for it

That's an awesome photo!

The car will debut on Rallye Monte Carlo in around 6 weeks time :)

Hopefully 7 speeds DSG in both cases.

Yeah right with a torque limit as low as that, dont think so.

I just hope they neaten the front end up when the VRS gets launched.

Remind me who the fivers should go to, again? :P :D

It was a tenner for each rumour and it was me.

I am currently funding the $700bn bail out for the US economy from the proceeds.

Forgive me for being dim, but is this a full-blown WRC spec machine then?

no, it's the s2000 spec. Introduced to reduce costs. No turbo, cheaper gearboxes from a limited number of manufecturers etc. from 2010 even the WRC cars will be based on the s2000.

Ah, I see. Is it just me or are both the WRC and the BTCC a shadow of their former selves? :(

Well, next year WRC will have only two manufacturers (Citroen and Ford).

The Fabia S2000 is as described (NA 2.0 engine, control 4x4 transmission) and will compete in a newish series next year called IRC. IRC has many of the classic events for 2009 (Monte, Safari, Sanremo) and for next year live tv from real stages.

WRCars from 2010 are supposed to be based on S2000 with a bolt on kit of a turbo, bigger rear wing, and a faster gearchange mechanism. It should mean the cars are cheaper, and maybe more manufacturers might enter, but the car regs aren't the WRCs only problem right now...

Just wonder WHEN we see vRS for us?

2010 looks likely although most car manufactors are moving their facelifts forward, i wouldn't be shocked to see it by Sept ish 09:-

Want seats like this:-

with the current climate i wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't one at all, its not like new cars are selling well let alone the less popular higher spec'd versions.
