Fabia VRS Exhaust?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, have been reading posts about the Magnex, Blueflame and Milltek Exhausts etc and have also seen some people using Custom systems, what i wanted to know is would it be beneficial to use a Larger diameter pipe such as 3 inch Diameter instead of a 2.5 Inch? What do Companies such as Blueflame, Magnex and Milltek use? Cheers.

The standard is 2.25"

3" is only worth it on a big turbo.

Most aftermarket companies use 2.5"

3" downpipe, 2.5" the rest, no cat or box. Just a smart looking tip on the end.

Its cheaper to have a custom made one done if your having no box, 'cos the box alone will probably cost £50-£75 before fitting.

Cat's are a waist of time on a TDi, so get your old one and cash it in somewhere (look in trade-it for companies that buy cat's).

No excuse now.

hmm i was thinking of a similar line... larger turbo/down pipe... to smaller rear end without boxes.

Im currently running a standard no boxes 2.25 exhaust catback. Sounds good once warm and from the outside... but me being stupid am thinking of something different. Just dont want it to be loud on the inside.

Ah rite cheers guys, so 2.5 is the way to go then. Cheers for the replies. Also any reall advantages between the Blueflame and Milltek?

downpipe at 3" is probably excessive. UItimately the turbo outlet will dictate flow and the stock turbos aperture is quite small so a 3" DP would probably be overkill. Even on my hybrid the downpipe is 2.5" wide, but the turbo has a wider outlet and the DP flange has been modified to mate with it better (wider hole and square 4 bolt setup rather than stock 3 point/bolt setup)

Rest of my exhaust is also 2.5" (ish :D)

Anyone got a vid clip of a Fabia VRS with a 'no box' system?

My Mk4 Golf TDi had a single box system and that was quite loud although it sounded wicked with the variable vein turbo chatter at low RPM.
