Cruise?

Featured Replies

You won't find many dealers who will retro fit cruise to a Mk1

remove his PC in a big polly forensics bag......

All roads would lead back to you though Tony!!

I'm sure John has already confirmed that my reg plates are legal :P

It's nice to know that we have the caring sharing arm of the law watching over us.

ooops, I forgot about that :) PS Debbie sent out that disk you wanted ...... to the old address, when I get home on Monday night I will have a word with her ;)

I have another solution though save buggering about with dual boot's etc .... but we are way off topic, not that the OP will understand ;)

Ahh well, thank her anyway.

When you get some free time we'll have a chat about the way forward then eh.

Errrrrr

Can we keep this on topic please. Oh hang on what was the topic.

Something about holidays or hanging around mens toilets wasn't it iirc

I was hoping for a bit of direction from you mate, as the OP seemed to make his original request in Welsh (like innit) Reading the post again though it could be from up in Gog land and not from god's own territory in South Wales (butt) :)

Well I have beeen a member on Briskoda for the last 5 years or so and this is pretty much the first time that I have seen a new member ( irrespective of his lack of knowledge of the english (or German language for that matter) treated in such a cavalier way by members, some of whome have been around here long enough to know better. Maybe when you have all come down off your respective soapboxes a simple bit of advice on the general etiquette ( which also includes NOT berating new members) of the site would suffice NOT two pages of general P*** taking!

To the original OP, I have a 2004 Octy VRS and yes it is quiet simple to retrofit cruise, you need the stalk, wiring loom access to Vag Com and 2-3Hours spare, there is a good guide on UK-mkivs that describes the process in detail and one on here as well if I remember rightly.

Alternatively depending on where you are you could take it to a VAG Specialist ( Dealers will look at you like you are stupid if you ask them to retrofit it, if they don't they will charge a ridiculous amount for it) such as Awesome GTI ( manchester ) PSI Tuning ( Stoke) Badger 5 ( Gloucester) or Star performance ( scotland). I dont know where you are based but that should see one fairly local, expect to pay from £250 - £300 or so.

Soap box queens scrutinising spelling!!!

The question was properly answered in post 4 and then his decision made later in the thread, post 12.

When a reasonable question, written in accordance with the site rules (no txt spk) is made then it will be treated with the respect it deserves. If the OP doesn't have the respect to proffer a reasonable and, to the best of his/her ability, well written, post then IMHO it doesn't command the respect you suggest in return.

I have made a serious and I believe informative post (14) regarding the use of txt spk here in this thread.

All well and good but you aren't sat here day in day out dealing with kind of garbled junk, I totally agree with Stu who has put up with stuff a lot longer than myself, if the OP can't be bothered too even try and type something understandable, then why should we bother with trying to help him. Maybe we are wrong too take the ****, but most txt talkers don't seem too get the message when asked nicely to speak english, so they get a rocket up their behind. You clearly don't spend a lot of time here otherwise you would see how common this is becoming (try the fabia 1 forum). Hence why Stu has added "txt speak police" to his avatar. I used use a mild form of txt speak (no punctuation whatsoever) when I first joined, until I was asked too refrain from doing it by a moderator.:)

Which is what I conveyed to the OP in my German reply, his original post in txt spk made as much sense to me as my reply in German will have made to him. As I am tired and cranky having spent virtually all of this week at work with very little sleep :) (notice the smiley) How come in 5 years of membership you have not hit the "Freedom" button :D:D

I'll get my coat :)

:D It's not compulsory - but a fair point.

Mind you 400-odd posts in 5 years compared to some...

Badger 5 ( Gloucester)

Who? Where?

Who? Where?

As you speak English mate :)

BRISKODA - The Skoda Forums

You seek Badger Bill, he's in your area.

Badger5

See ..... now wasn't that easy (not taking the micky out of you BJM) :D:D

In any case, I think the original poster has run off to find another forum that is less neo nazi in its approach to grammar... (maybe we'll find him on barryboys with pictures of our cars...)

How is wanting to keep the standard of text up within the forums neo nazi ?

You clearly don't spend a lot of time here otherwise you would see how common this is becoming

Might have something to do with the fact that dropping car prices are now making the Mk1 Octy vRS a realistic option for the young burberry cap types... ;)

Thread has run its course and now closed before it degenerates any further, the temperament that is, not the spelling.
