I found out yesterday that the Skoda dealership in Basildon are closing down at the end of this month.

They have not been open that long at all?

Sorry state of affairs, i've no doubt that the current climate won't make the new one in Swansea open any quicker either, if i have a problem i have to go all the way to Cardiff at the moment.... touches wood

JCB Basildon have been open for over two years - I paid them a visit in March 06 when looking at buying - they had been open a while before then. Have to say was not very impressed with sales staff. Needless to say I didn't buy from them.

I spoke to the Basildon dealer today (as I have a new car on order) and there seems no doubt that they are closing this month - staff expect they won't have a job by Christmas. They couldn't tell me directly what will happen re the car on order, and Skoda UK didn't seem to know anything about the dealership closing. I am awaiting more phone calls from both!!! Thanks for posting the warning. No doubt there will have trouble ahead for me.

I wouldn't worry too much, it'll all get sorted out very easily once Skoda clarify the situation with JCB.

What Again!!!! There was a Agent at Southend for years and years and they closed down just before JCB Bas. opened.

That was Prince Avenue Skoda on the A127 just going into Southend.
