Octavia Boot will not unlock

Featured Replies

My brother has a 2002 Octavia, and since having the rear wiper motor fixed he is unable to unlock the boot, either with the key or by central locking.

He's coming over tomorrow to help me move some furniture and we need the boot.

Can anyone gives us some pointers? I'm thinking we'll have to climb in to the boot via the back seats, but I havent worked on a Skoda before so you could save us loads of time if you could point me in the right direction.

Is there some sort of latch that will open the boot from the inside like on most other cars?

And is it likely that we could fix the problem? I suspect a dodgy connection on the solenoid.

Your help will be much appreciated,

Bax.

You probably will need to remove the boot trim, to again access to the locking mechanism, here you should be able to pull one of the rods to open. I doubt there is any other easier way especially from the outside, but I may find myself corrected.
