Seats are getting dirty very quickly!

Featured Replies

I have called Portchester Trimmers today and popping my VRS down to them to get a quote.

I am fed up with the grey insert on the VRS seats.

I want them to change the grey material to leather with a shallow VRS green piping around the changed material, also the door cappings with the same horrible grey material.

Has anyone done this before? and was it a good replacement.

I will let you all have some pictures when I have done it.

Grey? Err, they should be white. You could always go for a set of Golf GTi leather seats.

Redundant quote deleted.

Just hire a rug doctor/vax/etc and clean it all properly out a couple of times a year?

I got the quote from Portchester Coach Trimmers for all 4 seats and all 4 door cards yesterday. They said £200 for a light gray hide and about £300 labour? I am very tempted and have got a bit of spare cash? Umm?

Actually has anyone ever pulled the doors apart?

Does the gray (white as some say) part come off the main card of the door? or is it molded to the card?

i think they are glued on

That's what I was not hoping!

I want to hear some body say they screwed them from the back.

Tom can you call me at home or do you want me to call you - need a favour

No they are hot glued /melted on, although it is pretty easy to separate the two.

Thanks Giz

thank god some one knows - I hate pulling things apart that I don't know how they come apart - always end up using brute force.

Ive been looking into this myself. No one seems to be keen on replaceing the cloth part of the seats for leather. Most places just say replace the whole seat covering.

The best (and most helpful) quote I had was from Seat Surgeons. They replace all the seat's and door cards for around £800 - £1,000 depending on what quality of leather you want.
