How much to Fit Cruise Control to an Octy vrs

Featured Replies

Im looking for a used diesel Octy vRS estate which seem to be difficult to find as it is, but I also want to either get one with cruise control fitted, or have it fitted by the dealer when I buy it,

Can any one advise how much the dealers are likely to try and charge to fit this?

Also the only other option I am considering when I buy a new car is the Diamond bright/scotchguard to protect the paint and the interior. Has anyone got any experience of this, and is it worth paying extra for?

Dealer prices vary quite a lot as to be honest many of them seem to be scared to do the job or are certainly unsure. Some people have reported amazing prices which have probably cost the dealers money and others report frankly rediculous.

Thanks for quick reply.

I am just trying to get a feel for how much its likely to cost me, as its something I feel is essential for my new car having had and used cruise control for the past 9 years on a daily basis.

I'm hoping that with car sales being slow especially because of the time of year, that I should be able to get a good deal for a car, and if it comes down to the cost of fitting the cruise control being a factor as to if they sell a car or not, then they might be more willing to offer me it for a good price.

Just been charged £200 fitted from a dealer :)

I've just had cruise fitted to my Golf at VW in Shrewsbury, a very reasonable £147 inc fitting and vat. I haven't got the price breakdown but I think the indicator stalk was about £50 and the labour £85 for the hour. I'm suprised the Skoda dealer would charge more.

£127 inc vat from Faintree Skoda in bridgenorth

awesome have it on ebay for £165 at the moment

£167 at Robert Eardley skoda Newcastle under Lyme . Hopefully they will price match some of the others

EARDLEYS now lowered price to £135.00 all in and FAINTREE skoda are quoting £127.00 . Obviously dealers vary quite a lot in Labour rates as stalk costs around £55.00 - £60.00 . Anyone have any good prices for cambelt kit and waterpump including fitting at main dealers ??

JKM appear to charge £100 + VAT for post 2005 cars (more for older ones)

JKM

In Romania they quote 30£-50£ for the labour.

I fited mine myself in ~30 minutes for free :).

It's not that dificult once you have the right tools for the job.

Anyone in West Yorkshire doing it for sensible money?

Mitchell Skoda in Ellesmere Port added it to a used VRS diesel estate I bought from them for 170 pounds. That was in April 2009.

Just had my cruise control fitted by Robert Eardley Skoda Newcastle Under Lyme . Works fine but no lights show up on dash . Dealer stated that my vehicle does'nt have the light on the dash indicating cruise control on etc . My vehicle is a 06 Octavia VRS Hatch . Does anyone know wether this will be the case . Seems a bit strange as I believed that the dashboard displays would be the same and should have the warning light to show cruise control as being active .

Cost me £135.00 fitted .
