Photos of new car

Featured Replies

Picked this up just before Christmas, finally got round to washing it, fitting mud flaps and taking a few photos. Its the petrol model and I am really pleased with it so far.

Plans are 4 wheel alignment to the new rear camber figures, Goodyear Asymmetric tyres all round and a good clay/polish session.:)

Looks good. The camber settings should be correctly set now during build. This was an issue affecting early Octys.

PS you'll need them mudflaps if you keep parking it on the grass :)

PSS don't let the vicar catch you parking there :)

Lol, I only parked it there for the photos, normally it keeps to the tarmac.

Its a 56 plate so I am going to get the 4 wheel alignment checked just incase. I recently had it done on my golf and it made a big difference.

Make sure then that whoever you take it to has the new settings and not the original ones for the Mk II Octy - Octavia-vRS.com - Octavia A5 Common or Known Problems and Issues

I really wouldn't expect any adjustment to be required on a new car so its probably a waste of money IMO. I can understand adjustments being required to a car that's been driven 10k, 20k etc, e.g. your Golf, but I'd be asking questions of Skoda if it rolls of the production line with the wrong settings.

Where did you get the rear mudflaps???

I have front ones on mine, but the dealer said they didn't do them for the back. Under the back of my car gets filthy, mudflaps would cure it!

Nice car there.

Regarding the rear camber settings, I only had my 07 plate Ex Demo for a few days before I took it to STAR Performance and had it checked and adjusted. Even after driving a few miles in comparison I noticed a difference.

The mudflaps are the genuine Skoda ones which my dealer also told me don't fit a vRS. I read a thread on here that mentioned persuading them to fit using a hairdryer it works no problems. The hairdryer softens the rubber on the mudflap and helps it mold against the bumper. Even if you don't use the hairdryer they still fit ok and look like they belong there.

very nice, looks in pristine for a 56 plate. I need to get around to fitting my rear mudflaps too although i did fit the fronts straight away. I might get outside tomorrow with a bowl of boiling water before I crack the hairdryer and cables out

Thanks for the comments.

IIRC, mine is that colour - underneath all the crud!

Putting me to shame, I'll get the shampoo out tomorrow.

Nice. Enjoy!

Looks a nice example

Reminds me of my old VRS :(

Good spec too by the looks of it, get an mfd2 (or mfd3 if your flush) to take advantage of the maxidot, you can get them for £2-250ish now

Cheers

Damian

Could you please give me the part number for the rear mud flaps, think I will get a set. How much were they?

Your car looks mint.

Me too for the mudflaps - was told there was no such thing for a vRS, and the roads up here make them a necessity! Thanks...

Looks stunning mate, congrats!

They are just the standard mudflaps from your dealer, here is a link to the Skoda Accessories website with part numbers and prices:

Sorry, didn't realise that this wasn't a new car in which case you're probably well advised to have the camber settings checked.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the mudflaps link. I'll take the part number to my dealer during the week.

Standby for fitting advice!

Cheers

Tomo1971,

how much did Star Performance take to do the checks on your alignment and did they have the modified factory settings?

Thanks

Just fiitted the mud-flaps to mine this afternoon , as Peter0976 says they fit perfect to the rear bumper with a little help from a hair dryer to soften them up

Thanks Pete

Very nice immaculate condition
