No blower???

Featured Replies

I've noticed over the last few days that I have very little air being blown up the screen. On any setting - fan turned upto 4 with heat on - without heat on - with a/c on - without a/c on. it all seems the same!

The other thing i've noticed if I go round a sharp corner I seem to get a blast of freezing cold air around my legs and over my left arm.

Any idea's? I'm also getting bad condensation on the inside of the screen!

Same here. I checked the pollen filter today and gave it a clean. I may need to reset via vag com,

Will keep a eye on this post for any replies though

Check with diagnostics, more than likely one or more of the flap motors are out of basic settings.

What does that mean? try and find a skoda dealer??

A common problem on Fabia's is that the motorised ventilation flaps stick. This can sometimes be reset using VAG-COM as follows. A symptom of this is that the temperature will differ from what you expected or set on the dashboard controls.

[select]

[08 Heater/A.C]

[04 Basic Settings].

Select channel 000 and let it run until the numbers stop moving, select channel 001and repeat then channel 002 and repeat. The incrementing numbers mean the flap is moving from one stop to the other. Should at the end read 0. Login again and clear any fault codes.

Does the blower work on settings 1,2 and 3?

Does the blower work on settings 1,2 and 3?

It works on 1, 2 & 3 - but I could breath heavier!!!!

and I bet 4 aint that strong either?

Whats the pollen filter like?

No 4 is like someone breathing on my hand if you put your hand on top fo the dash with the blower on 4, full hot and at the screen.

Havent checked the pollen filter - where is it? If its anything like the airfilter I just binned it will be very dirty!

Whats the pollen filter like?

A large 12"x9"ish folded paper affair that lives in the darkest depths of the dash!

I'll get my coat:D

under the dash or under the bonnet?

If you look upwards from the passenger footwell it's there. Between the glovebox and bulkhead.

The pollen filter is at the end of the search button..lol

I have a problem with my left centre blower, absolutly nothing comes out of it no matter what speed it is on, it is completly blocked.

Just had a service done on it and Skoda asked me to see if it made any difference, it didn't. Its going back in.

I wonder if the both problems are related some how

Easier to get to if you take the glove box out though :D

Eh? No need to take the glovebox out, the panel is easily opened from underneath. Takes a few mins max.

Other thing that I have found tonight is that when i put the car into reverse the blower blows harder!

That's it going into recirc mode. To my knowledge, the recirc'd air still goes through the pollen filter. It does sound like you need to rattle through the section 08 on vagcom to reset the motor/s. :)

I dont have anyone I know who has Vagcom! :( Looks like a main stealer!

Firstly I would crawl into your passenger footwell and look up at the spot between glovebox and dash. There's a couple of clips that pull outwards which releases the frame of the pollen filter holder to drop down. Check that's fairly clean. :) Be prepared for a flood of brown leaves if it's not been changed in a while. ;)

Then go the stealer. :)

ok - i'll do that first thing in the morning and see if it makes a difference!

Pulled the pollen filter - half a tree fell into the passengers side footwell!!!

Gave the filter a shake out, put it back together and I now have a blower that blows! :)

Took only a few minutes to clear the screen instead of the 15 minutes it use to take!

Might be an idea to get a new pollen filter, For all they cost, Unless you know when the current one was fitted!
