Ah but if you had been there would you have helped a damsel in distress, or left me to break yet more nails?! ;);)

nop, i wouldn't help you at all, just watch an be supportive, AND IF YOU ASK ME i would just explain what you wanted me to explain, or direct you in the step you want me to direct you so that YOU CAN DO IT on your own....

now doing thing together is another subject, thats a 50 / 50 scenario but in most cases i don't like to demeanor women by taking over... jejej, that remind me, my mother, a 50+ woman with a little of my help built her hp pavillion (put in the hard disk, modem and memory actually) she spent the hole week calling everybody and e-mailing everyone letting them know how computer savvy she is, jajaja she felt so proud i just smiled

same thing if i would have been there, stupid kid grin all the way

Now that's my kind of fella!!!! See, my ex could never understand why I wanted to get my hands drirty, break nails etc whereas I wanted the satisfaction of doing stuff myself! :D

Well done! The blue wire is the one for connecting it to the ignition ;) Don't ask me where it goes though..... :P

:rofl2:

Nice one :D

I might have to change mine and get it rewired.

Left my Favorit at home over new years as I was in Scotland, got into it today and found the radio has reset itself and the changer wasn't working.

I hate it when that happens

At least it was a "simple" unplug and plug job :)

Now for your next task, a oil change :D You won't break nails doing that but you may get dirty :rofl:;)

Well done getting things to work on your own is a very satisfying feeling and i'm sure your invisible audience were silently applauding:D

My stereo is wired the same permanent feed not ign. fed and its never bothered me, mine is JVC face off so when i leave the car i pop the face off and it turns the unit off anyway no probs and leaves a red flashing light for all would be thieves to think its alarmed (Gulp there are no would be's on here are there:eek:):D:D:D

I noticed that too  Result all round then!

Well congratulations on swapping the stereo. Notoriously, anything involving audio kit in cars is typically both fiddly and fraught - I speak as someone who's au fait with both mechanics and electronics. (Though as a musician I feel no need for music in a car and consequently have largely avoided car audio in 20-plus years of car ownership.)

Minor issue - just been to Asda, and "Cutie" kept cutting out. When idling, the revs were bouncing up and down, and it cut out twice. Also, whilst reversing into the parking space, it cut out again. Could the battery be on the way out, or does it just need a journey longer than 15 minutes to give it a chance to juice up??

That could be caused by various things but NOT the battery, nor its state of charge. As an invariable rule, if the battery is good enough to start the car - any car ever made! - it's more than good enough to run it. Given the work you've just done, I'd hazard a guess you may have disturbed some wiring related to the ignition and introduced an intermittent circuit break somewhere along the line. You'd better assume that 'upside down under the dash' position again and look for wires in danger of spontaneous disconnection.

Well there goes my peaceful Monday afternoon!! :P Thank you. I went for a bit of a drive last night - up until now have only really drive it for 15 - 20 mins to work, etc. It was fine, and started well this morning despite all the frost, etc. I will have a look for "wires in danger of spontaneous disconnection"
