last of the 1.9's?

Featured Replies

Just seen an advert through Autotrader for a 7k mile 2007 57 plate 1.9TDi Elegance. Is this one of the very last 1.9 models? It's a facelift model with, I think, just 115 rather than 130 horses. So presumably no DPF ?? ( Meadens Skoda, New and Used Skoda Dealer, Sway, Hampshire, UK - Used Cars )

Apart from the price (which must surely be very negotiable at the moment) of £10,995 and the fact that it would be missing my glass sunroof; dark rear tints; non-standard wheels (sore point :(); and, I think, full nappa leather; though it has got sat nav (is that standard on the facelifts?) so I wouldn't lose that - am I insane to even start to consider it? Oh, and it's the same colour as the one I've got (2005 '05 35k 130TDi Elegance) - bummer!

More I think about it - more I think I've decided to stick with mine: so far I've got no problems with water ingress, erratic running, misbehaving electrics, oily EGR or anything other than the usual annoying behaviour of the CD/maxidot with its occasional German message and failure to display correctly or recognise CDs in the autochanger. (Why is it I think I shouldn't have said all that... Memo to self - keep fingers crossed for next 1000 miles!)

Hmm... wonder if the 57 plate has got seized pinch bolts yet...? Damn, the itchy fingers are coming out again.

Yes that wil be a 115, and no DPF no.

Sat nav is standard on that age of Elegance I believe.

Why not keep your one though, with 35k on the clock its barely run in!!

If its the cherry red one, then those wheels are standard. :)

It wouldnt be a sensible thing to do, but I know what you mean by itchy fingers...

Go and buy a new ipod or something! :)

Yep... those wheels are standard - but the ones on mine aren't. In fact I've only seen one other Superb with the same wheels as mine, and that one had the next consecutive reg no to mine, parked at my local dealer when I visited the parts dept. Mine is an ex-SUK car and I guess the other one was too, as it also had sunroof and dark tints. One way to use up those factory-option wheels.

cheers

What! just after Xmas and before pay day?

...been thinking of a trip to Awesome for a rear ARB though :D

I saw this and wondered the same, didn't realise it was a 115bhp.

I test drove the lower powered 1.9 when shopping for my car. It lacks the edge of the 130 PS engine and would not be anything like as good for towing, but if you don't need the power, it goes perfectly well. I suspect this engine was listed to meet the taxi market - although the 130 PS AWX is almost as economical.

They'll never shift it now - a serious bargain to be had if you put a little money on the table and hold your ground.

rotodiesel.

115's remap well... ;)

Get bargaining, Bargain Hunters!

Aarggh! now my fingers are really itching... :rubchin:

That is true, a lovely smooth 160bhp... :)

I think there is also a black 1.9 115 57 plate in the dealer network as well for similar money!

Sounds like a good purchase, if you could beat them down a few grand! Would even be tempted myself if I hadn't changed mine a few months back!

Its not bad, I paid 12k for my comfort one with 3,000 miles on it....

Skoda Superb Saloon 4-Dr 1896 cc 1.9 TDi PD 115 Elegance ...Radio/CD/MP3/CD Autochanger...

I've noticed this in spec lists before - what's the relevance of mp3 mentioned here? is this a different unit than fitted in the pre-facelift models?

Or, as is my suspicion, the spec list that appears in many adverts is simply a cut and paste from some generic SUK source that is inaccurate. (Why mention CD as well as CD autochanger? Unless by CD they mean the satnav CD!)

cheers

I have also been curious as to the mp3 being mentioned, can't see any difference in my Sat Nav head unit, to the last one. (previous one being non facelift but with sat nav)

The Sat Nav head unit does not play CD's, it is just a CD Rom drive for the sat nav.

I would reckon your suspicion is correct about cutting and pasting.
