Best iPod adaptor for a 2006 Vrs?

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 2006 new shape Vrs and wondered if anyone had any advice on the best iPod adaptor. There is no socket to plug anything in and I don't want an FM one as I had it in a previous car and the sound was poor and unreliable.

I suspect that if Skoda do one it will be mor eexpensive than others?

I wonder if anyone has experience of the Skoda one or any others?

Thanks

Do a Search on here and you'll come up with loads and different answers - Personally the OEM Skoda (make by Dension) unit does exactly what I want it to do, but others aren't so keen.

Try www.carputer-shop.co.uk they sell an i-pod adaptor for the mk2 and it charges all ipods inluding the new touch, mine was installed in the boot and took around 10 mins. Its made by Grom.

Just make sure your car has a stream headunit and all the above will work fine. You may lose the use of the cd changer depending on the option you choose, however this may not be an issue to you. If you have an audience headunit, then nothing can be added apart from an fm adaptor because the audience has no external changer connections.

In addition to the OEM unit manufactured by Dension (see above) you could also have a look at their "Gateway" range of products - Dension Audio Systems

Or try Connects2 - I've just bought one of their Ipod adaptors for my Fabia, but they do an Octy version as well - Connects 2,Car Audio integration specialists

Thanks for all the help.

There's a new one available, but it only works if you HAVEN'T got an aux socket in the jumbo box..unfortunately, it's £95 :(

I might be cheaper to just buy a second hand MP3 Stream :)

or make one for around £5 ;) i made one for a stream mp3 unit, im sure if you get the wire diagram for a 2006 model it cant be hard.

No Paul, the early Stream never had the AUX input.

im sure we had a similar one a few months ago, i posted a wiring diagram off the back of an early stream and it was where the blue block went AFR and AFL connections??? if the OP can get a picture of the back of the stereo where the connections go in (wiring diagram sticker would be better) then we could see from there.
