Hi there this is my first post but i've been browsing the forum for a couple of weeks for info

i just bought a yellow 2001 octavia rs from a friend and have already had an ecu map done the wheels painted black and tinted the car... just put on a cupra lower splitter this morning and a hid kit with pattern adjusters been busy i have a couple of other japanese performance cars but i have worked on a friends octavia before ( i have a garage in Leeds ) after spending time putting a front mount k04 and d/pipe and stage 3 revo on his car i found it very impressive so i picked one up for my daily driver....... got the hesittation problem already have changed a few bits and cleaned the TB just waiting for my forge recirc and a new n75 h to come tues...:)

Wat size wheles are those? They make the front brakes look tiny!

They're the standard 17" spider alloys the calipers need repainting and they are the 288mm brakes so could do with the 312mm and carriers i think:)

How come it has the small brakes? I thought they all had 312mm as standard?

Good point! i've worked on a few and the majority have the bigger brakes i wonder wether on the early cars it was an option?? be interesting to find out my friends car is ex police and it is a 2001 y reg it had the 312's on:confused:

They should all have them, not just the majority: having small brakes has never been an option on UK-spec Octavia vRS cars. I notice that your rears look about the right size - can you confirm that they are vented?
