I want one !!!!!

Featured Replies

I am just in the process of organising a test drive in a Fabia vRS . I have owned a Passat tdi 115 se before so I know how good the engines are . I would just appreciate some comments from other Fabvrs owners , maybe on what's good and bad about the fab ?

Good - It's a Skoda and a RS

Bad - It's a Fabia & diesel

:D

They are cheap, economical and easy to tune though.

I didn't realise that Fabia vRS came with steel wheels. Looks crap with out the trims. Why oh why do some manufacturers paint steel wheels black. Always looks bad when the trims come off.

Been to the opticians lately William? ;)

Buz.

For..everything

Against...Struggling on that one, but it's a case of what suits your needs best.

Must be a slow day for him. ;)

same happened to mine William ... bloody scouse hub cap thieves....

Bad news Paul, they've stolen all your stickers too

Welcome, Buz. As you can see some of our members are barking - as in mad and up the wrong tree, but not both at the same time. Now, where can I get some black 6 spoke steel wheels for my 4X4?

Well just to add some fuel to the debate I hired a TDI PD Sharan on holiday and found the diesel engine to be quite hateful. Apart from the very clattery agricultural noises being heard from under the bonnet (I thought modern diesels were much more refined) the power delivery was a total pain in the ar5e. It was either on or off and the power band was, well pathetic to say the least. No sooner had the car got moving than a new cog was needed - no wonder there are 6 gears.

I'm not trying to be deliberately controversial just my honest opinion......... Apologies if it offends those who believe the PD motor is the best thing in the world but imho it isn't. Fuel economy was good though.

Yep, but, in fairness to the Sharan, it is a high-roofed hearse with a load of extra weight to carry around (no pun intended). My old man had the Alhammy before and with the 115bhp PD engine, it was decidedly slow. Now he has a similar motor to you (normal height roofed hearse in luxury trim), but with the 130bhp lump and it is decidedly more enjoyable.

It is most surprising the difference 15bhp and shape / weight of car makes to the feeling of performance. Also, being higher up, you probably have a slower speed impression anyway...

Nowt to do with extra weight X as the performance was quite brisk even for a van with leccy windows. What didn't appeal to me was the manner in which the power was delivered. It was the PD130 version btw - I forgot to mention that bit.
