Afraid I can't help on the fitting as I got a garage to fit it for me. One thing I will say, Yoiu will love it once you have it fitted.

You will not need any gaskets unless you went for the down pipe and sports cat then you need the gasket where the down pipe bolts to the turbo.

I fitted mine myself and once you get the old exhaust just work from the front and work your way back. Much easyer if you have a four poster ramp. The only problem i had was it's a bit tight over the rear axle and can see it having to be modified when i put on the coilovers.

Just take your time and get some exhaust putty for the joints.

Thanks alot lads its the full exhaust inc 200 cel sports cat was amazed at the size or the itp its huge lol:eek: just cant wait to get it on

Ive got the same exhaust, pretty easy to fit. Im guessing yours came with about 5 clamps to make life easy? I dont think mine has the gasket between the downpipe though unles the old one was fitted im not sure.

It does get tight under the rear axle, had to move the exhaust to one side abit for it to sit right which brings it close to some sheild i think it was, cant really remember.

cheers all good info :D:D

I have the same exhaust, It is a piece of cake to fit providing you can get the car up enough to fit it. I had the garage fit the down pipe(only cause I could up get the car up) . This is the only section that needs a gasket but the original one will probably be ok. Then as other folks stated, just connect all the other sections up without tightening up. Adjust to make a nice fit and checking it does not knock. The last thing you need to do is check the alignment of the Rear box so that it fits in the Bumper squarely, also making sure that the rear box joins the centre cention neatly. If not you will get a blow between the two pieces, unless you have the new revised oval box system that is a push sleeve fit and not a bolt up fitting which is much easier and less hassle. Then listen to the sound(great)

think this mite be the new one all joints have 2 slits in them to make it easyer to slot together and the tip is a bug PHAT oval looks a beast will post some picks when its on :D:D

Cannot really help with this one, as being one of the first with the full Blueflame turbo back system, I drove to Skelmersdale, and they made it to measure on my old Octy vRS.

Quality piece of kit, and you will enjoy the sound.

cheers Beretta can't wait to get it on :D:thumbup::D

I dont think that sleeve went on my exhaust, the clamps held it fine and dont hink there wasmuch need for it. Can i visibly check to see ifits blowing?

Skateknife, I think the sleeve you are talking about is the 4" one that you get with the cat back system (not needed with turbo back full system), used to link up to the standard cat, and not the fixed sleeve fittings that the new style blueflame has at the front end of the rear box. The Old style Rear box(DTM looking) had 2 bolt holes to bolt to the centre section and is a bit of a pain centralising with the rear bumper.

i bought my vrs back in august last year. a big plus at the time was it having a newly fitted (within 3 months) blueflame exhaust.

it started blowing after a few weeks, ats sorted it, saying it was a join at the backbox.

i had to have it looked at again about a month ago - just before christmas. the garage i took it to this time had to dismantle the exhaust and re-weld numerous points where original welds were poorly done.

the backbox hanger was shot, and the backbox was hanging real low.

basically i was shocked at how poor the quality of welding was.

its been fine since.

hope yours is better made than mine.

sorry for the negatives.

thats fine mate want to hear both sides but i used to be a welder and i can gladly say all welds are perfect on mine :D :D

maybe worth getting the rear exhaust hanger aswell (Y shaped one), about a fiver or so i think, just as the old one can stretch over time and make the rear hang a bit lower.

Hi, Just a quick question. Does anyone know if the full exhaust kit fits a octa mk1 vrs estate? I've been told that it probaly fit. On their website, Blueflame have a picture of the exhaust mounted on an estate. But thats a 4x4 mk1. Can anyone help me with a straight answer if it would fit my car?

Yes it will- got one fitted to mine before Christmas, and it fits perfectly :) In retrospect, I'd go for a non-resonated one- mine is barely louder than stock. Just make sure they send you the correct tailpipe though- I asked for a twin rolled in, but got a normal twin. Said they'd send another FOC, but have been waiting three weeks, even though I've called 3 times and also emailed...

Got any pics of the system mate, on and off the car if poss :) (Makes it easier for when I get mine lol)

None off the car, I'm afraid. Have a look on Ebay, they sell them on there and have pics etc. I'll try to get some for you of it on the car...

Cheers mate, but EBAY shows a generic exhaust. Nothing like seeing the real thing :) Im trying to convince myself to buy one, but cannot justify the outlay (Looking at 3dr Cosworth's aswell lol). So seeing one might tempt me :) Cheers.
