Tell me about it , it was a foreign lorry like they always are , the wife screaming when it got hit another couple of inches and it could of hurt alot !

Did not get the reg but hopefully it damaged something on his lorry

will phone skoda tomorrow and see how much one is

What an idiot.

Wouldnt have done much damage to the lorry.

And he probably wouldnt care.

I'm sure you'll be able to get one from a breakers.

Mk4 golf mirrors are the same i think, dont quote me on it though,

I got quoted £44 alone for the heated mirror glass for my mk2 octavia! So feel like this is going to hurt your wallet a bit.

Yeah for the full housing, glass, cover, paining etc your talking over £200 fitted im sure.

Was about that kind of price when i worked at VW.

Scrappys or brakersis your best bet.

Hi ,

sorry to hear about the mirror,a couple of days ago there were 2 silver Fabia's on E-Bay and the parts were being sold off them.

Might be worth a look

Doubt it, nothing he'd be concerned of.

You should be able make a claim for it, [stating the obvious I know]

did you get the Lorry's company name?

I'm afraid it won't help in your case as there is a £300 excess, but if there had been more damage you could claim under the Motor Insurers' Bureau scheme. Also useful for uninsured drivers who may bump into you.

Link: How to make a claim under the Untraced Drivers' Agreement

No you can't for two reasons:

1) You need a registration plate. It's untraced driver not unknown car.

2) If you have comprehensive insurance then it's already insured so MIB won't cover it.

Been there tried that for hit and run and got told no chance.
