Countdown....

Featured Replies

Just spoke to my dealer, my brand new Fabia vRS will be ready to collect next Fri 3rd Sept.

I now have the reg no, and the insurance is all sorted...........HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO SLEEP NOW......more to the point, will work give me the day off (there's always the sickie stunt).

Anyway, sorry to leave such a pointless post.....but I am sure you know how I am feeling.

carefree

This is probably how I will feel when I pick mine up!!!

Good choice in colour BTW! :)

Know exactly how you feel. When I got my Scooby I had to wait a whole month for it (private sale), but after two weeks managed to negotiate bringing it forward a week so we could get the alarm fitted as the place doing the alarm was .... er .... very busy every day except that day for the foreseeable future ;) Countdown chart is good idea though and it is only 7 days :D

I feel like a kid who's just woke on Christmas morning......even with 7 days before picking the damn thing up.....

When do you get yours??

I know exactly how you feel. I'm taking delivery of my new Superb Elegance on Tuesday next week.

I've actually had one of the best dealer experiences ever, as they are bringing the car down to me on a transporter on the 31st. This is so we can still make our ferry to France on the 1st. How's that for service (and I live about 120 miles from the dealer)!

They've made me sign a disclaimer that I won't drive it until the 1st....don't know how I'm going to manage :D

Bagpuss.

lol.....what time does it get dark this time of year bagpuss????.......NAH its not worth the risk. At least you can sit in it, familirise yourself with it etc etc........and as soon as the clock hits 12 am on the 1st you are free to play.

Should be end of October (damn Xenon lights!!). It's only a week ago since I ordered it but its seems ages ago!

Hey, its not that bad fellas. I had to wait 4 months for mine!

But I know what its like, I was chomping at the bit for ages.

Guys.....sre they really THAT good???? I'm asking because I haven't even test driven one yet.....such is my faith in the comments I've read on this and other sites.

No, I'm not mental......not completely.

Your crazy! well lets put it this way i am only 19 years old, have a lot of p*ss taking mates and ive only test driven it twice, but those two times its put such a grin on my face that i will be ordering one in 10 days, and i will be laughing all the way :)

aaaaahhhhh............so Im NOT so crazy really am I????

I have not read one bad review, from either joe public or so-called motoring 'experts'.

Nice choice Carefree, I was only able to take a 10 minute test drive but this was enough to convince me buying the vRS was the right decision, so don't worry I'm sure you'll love the car. :D

Think yourself luck you've only got a 7 day wait, I had to wait 7 weeks it was hell.

Cheers Buzz

I am convinced i made the right decision as people like you who 'know' keep telling me its a fantastic car, so cheers.

7 weeks huh???.......suddently 7 days seems nothing :D

lol, well i've not even seen one in real life and mine arrives this coming Wednesday !! I've been looking out for one for ages but you try to spot a particular car in London (unless it's a Golf etc). Talking of Golfs, when I mentioned to my brother some time ago that I was thinking of getting a 'new' car and said a Golf was on my list, he said, oh god, not one of those labia's, at which I looked at him rather confused. Yeh he said, every c**** got one.

Fabia vRS in Black, Xenons, Cruise, ESP, Sunroof, Side thingies, thingy deactivation swift... arriving Wednesday :P

Should be getting mine next Friday, (3rd Sep) too. Started clearing out all the odds and ends I seem to carry around in my boot all the time. Took quite a lot of stuff out yesterday at work and I'm sure the car ran better. I think the car was quietly saying 'don't swap me, I'll run better and not rattle quite so much if you keep me'.

Keep counting down the days, you will only need one hand to count on soon...

lol......guess what car i have at the mo....???

He's right tho', toooooooooo common for my liking. I remember in the eighties (yes Im 35) and i was one of the first in my town to own an Escort XR3i. At the time they were seen as pretty cool, but as time went on they became the car of choice for spotty 17 year olds to mod and generally abuse. Tell someone you got an escort xr3 now and see the reaction.

Im glad im getting the vRS.....still pretty rare on the roads compared to most other makes, and i strive to be different and not be a sheep.

hey mbirkett.....i know what you mean.

I have a sony 6 disc changer in the boot of my golf which i promised to the wife (a bargaining tool for her car when i was trying to convince her that we needed a vRS) BUT i just cant be bothered to take it out.

Luckily i try not to clutter up cars so clearing it out wont be a problem ;)

My current car is a Toyota Avensis T3x 1.8. It is only 18 months old, can't say too much in case the dealer I'm trading it in with is viewing the site. The boot is MASSIVE (could probably get the Furby in to it) and my partner is wondering how we will get the kitchen sink into it when we go away for a few days in October.

Suggest you get some fabric protector for the seats, the light grey will soon mark. We will be doing a couple of hundred miles when we get the car on Friday. Back on Sunday, so will do the seats then.

The clock is ticking down steadily as we speak.

I have seen a few posts on here about protecting the seats. Do Halfords do a teflon type seat protector???????

I'm a grand old 38 and this is my 1st new car ! I've been hiring for years probably out of lazyness but hiring isnt very good for spare of the moment weekends away and I need more of those so here goes... lets see what happens. :P

Friday evening in London, 3 hours later sitting in my cottage on the Welsh border...

:sheep:

in theory at least... ok i'll have to wait for the traffic to die down but you get the picture...

My first 'new' car too, and i am a little nervous to say the least. Wont want to leave it in public for extended periods (shopping, cinema etc) or am i being overly anxious?? :(

I think some Halfords do and some B&Q stock the 3M Scotch Guard. I have some JewelUltra fabric protector. It really works as I got some blood on my seats a few years ago when some b*****ds broke into my Rover 416 to nick my JVC HU. The blood just wiped of the grey fabric with a damp cloth. No stains left behind.

Still gonna replace the HU in the Furby, but I think it will be best to wait a month or so just to make sure everthing is OK with the new Furby. Don't want the dealer blaming any dashboard rattles or vibrations on any mod I do too early on.

I feel kind of the same way... :o

At least I can use it as an excuse to sit in the car and listen to the radio while the better half rattles around Safeways with a trolly.
