Twindoor Spolier

Featured Replies

I agree should be standard on Elegance and V6, option on SE:). As it is it's standard only on V6:thumbup: and Greenline:confused:.

Not if it would push the price up by £400 !!

Personally I'd rather not have one at all , i'm glad its an option

Still think it's a design flaw when the rest of the car is good.

I agree it is butt ugly and a shame really as the rest of it is so good looking.

The wagon will fix its ugly butt.

if you think its ugly go take a look at the mitsubishi colt CC. saw one the other day and its the most hideously out of proportion car i have ever seen in my life !!

the superb is not ugly - add the spoiler and it looks nice. The estate (wagon) i think looks a bit odd !! but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder !! at least it stands out form the crowd - unlike a BMW :)

if you think the superb is ugly then what do you think to the really ugly cars....fiat multipla comes to mind and a whole host of others.

I reckon the spoiler does enhance the rear end and not one person I have shown the car to has commented on the rear end being "ugly"

Yeah but that is sold on being practical, if you want to go for the exec market then you can't have ugly. Guess that means it will be taxi fleet duty for the superb II just as it was for the MK I then.;)

Just realised what it looks like... an older Megan saloon.

you don't like it, go away

No, I don't have to like a car. The rear does look like the back of a megan saloon.

FWIW, that piece of plastic is extortion at £400.

I mean making it probably costs a couple of £ in materials, add £5 labour even though they are mass produced and so it will be less than that. Then add primer which is say another £5 and painting. We will assume it is painted after the car is produced and then fitted so lets add £50 for that, and then round it up a bit.

So for something that costs about £65 all in fitted and painted including labour, that's one heck of a mark up.

:iagree:

It does seem terrible on the VFM front...

A Ford one for my Focus was less than half the cost and you get alot more for you money.

it was offert by my dealer with the front lip and black windows !!!

I ordered one, but wholeheartedly agree. Unfortunately.

Yes, the backside is pretty ugly and yes, the spoiler 1) doesn't help and 2) is WAY too expensive. Luckily, these are about the only flaws the car seems to have... ;)

i paid £200 for mine - a fair price i think.

how anyone can see the car as "ugly" is beyond me. A 20 yr old ford escort is ugly. A fiat multipla is ugly. but not the superb. People didnt like the 5 series when it came out.

dont worry - not one person who has seen my nice new car has said - "nice car, but same the back is ugly" !!!

I have to say that if anything can be called "a total waste of time and money", this must be it. I can`t think even one good reason why anyone should buy that thing....sorry....:thumbdwn:

because i like it ...thats a good enough reason.:)

i dont see the point in a blackberry but plenty of people buy them !!! (my £50 nokia works without any hassle !)

I agree the rear end is not pretty and it also reminded me of a megane but at the end of the day i dont have to look at the back when i 'm driving it

have you seen the new SEAT - based on an onld A4 and the rear end looks very similar to the superb I think.

Just received my spoiler in steel grey, £85.22 for the spoiler £11.30 for adhesive and a resonable £50 to prepare and paint (plus VAT) so a total of £168.50. As mentioned before it has sticky tape applied to the underside of the spoiler and seems easy to fit as long as you take care fitting it which I think will only take 30 minutes (assembly instructions are provided, you will need TWO people to fit it it and you need the adhesive). I placed it on the back of the dealers car (steel grey aswell) stood back and thought that was money well spent even the sales rep agreed it made the car a lot nicer. My thanks to JCBlincs for the photos as that made my decesion to buy the spoiler and recommend anyone to buy one! (especially if you are not to keen on the "back end" like me, I feel it's more awkward looking than ugly though)
