Lambo for me too. As has already been said it's a bit more outrageous than the others.

Audi R8 Clinically boring but may carry pub bragging points, personally I think its bland & the way prices are tumbling that will soon be reflected in the market.

Lamborghini Gallardo, been in a few, Rewarding to drive as you only have limited laps, it has a very efficent chassis & 4wd system enabling you to quickly feel good with the car.

Aston Martin Vantage. The morning after my last Cannonball my son was helping the owner of one take his stickers off. When they had finished the guy chucked me the keys & said youd better take your nipper for a spin as a thank you, it really did happen like that !

I had listened to it off & on for 3000 miles so I just wound the windows down, left it in auto, backed the traffic up & repeatedly nailed it, sounds just fantastic, not sure how good it would be just blatting round the track but keep the window down if you choose it :D:D

Ferrari 360, most over rated piece of **** Ferrari ever built. If you want to say youve driven a Ferrari you will have ticked that box but thats about it, Gearbox is pants as well, first is painfully low, leaves a real flat spot from First to second unless you ring it to death in First. Really feels a slow car & without a Tubi exhaust even the noise is subdued

With only 4 laps you will struggle to get used to any of them & it will all be over far too quickly. Personally I think you should take the lambo, theres also always the chance it will be wet so 4wd means you can push on a bit more. No point ruining the experience by having RWD in the wet

For me it would be the Aston, the rest to me are just "ordinary" supercars by comparison, I just love that car but whatever you choose have FUN :D

Aston. Plain and simple

Lambo or the 360 deffo NOT the aston if its like the one at prestwold hall in leistershire(?) they've took the exhaust valves off to make em quieter,I should know ive worked on enough (bus mans holiday for me:rofl::rofl::rofl:).

But end of day its UP TO YOU!!!

Went on my experience yesterday, went with the Lambo.

It was booked through Virgin but the actual company was Lamborghini Experience, Rally Driving Days, Formula 1 Experience, Aston Martin Driving Experience: Driving Experiences, UK

The safety briefing was about fifteen minutes long but could have been condensed into "Don't just stamp on the accelerator, press it gradually" "don't just stamp on the brakes, just press them gradually". They tried to make it last as long as possible it seems.

Once we filed out to the track side it seemed a bit of a shambles, the group was huge as they had all of the different cars there not just the Lamborghini. The organisers spent most of the time trying to find people that become bored and had wandered off further along the track side to watch the cars.

After about an hour of standing about I went out on my familiarisation laps with an instructor driving a Civic Type R (slowly) I spent more time looking out of the windows at the various exotica flying past than listening to him.

Another half hour of standing about and it was finally my go in the Lambo! Five laps and I started getting the hang of it properly lap three or four, although I still wasn't really hammering it. After accellerating away the instructor told me to just leave it in third apart from the straight down the back where I needed to change up into fourth. This wasn't really a problem as when you put your foot down in third from even a quite slow speed it doesn't take long to get up to speed.

I got told off a couple of times on the first lap for not following his exact line, changing gear before he said, left hand not immediately back on the wheel

GF recorded it on my N95 and i've linked the video below, she paused it whilst I wasn't in shot so the experience was actually longer than it seems. Just wish the sound of the thing was picked up and that was one of the best bits. I'm the fella in the brown T Shirt right at the beginning.

I would do it again definitely, not in the Ferrari or Lotus though as you did have to wear a silly helmet. Think the R8 may be next on the list as that was the car that drew your eye the most to be honest whilst on track.

wasnt the atom available? id love a go in one of them, still though looks like the lambo was the better choice

Looks simmilar to the one my brother and I did at Elvington :)

We went with 6th Gear Experiences and enjoyed it a lot. Our briefing consisted of a demo lap pointing out turn-in and apex points and which bits of tarmac to avoid booting it on. No helmets, and away you went. I was advised to use 3rd and 4th in the Lambo, but I did use 2nd through the tightest part without complaint from my instructor, as long as you weren't an idiot they let you find your own limit. The instructor took the rear-view mirror to keep an eye out for cars on a hot demo lap, as you will be focussing your attention ahead. You still have the drivers door mirror anyway.

Being realistic, we were absolutely nowhere near the limits of the cars handling, and with just 4 laps, only a nutter would have done so. Even staying in 3rd out of slow corners, the acceleration was huge.

My sister tried the (supercharged) Atom. The instructors told us that only 2 of them were qualified to instruct with it, as it required them to have single-seater experience. She was told to run it up to 5th gear and leave it there until she came back to the pits. Given the massive performance of the Atom, that's entirely sensible, not that it took long to get the boost going

It's great to have driven such a car though to taste the incredible performance, brakes and grip that they have. :D

You pre book the car before you go, the atom doesn't really do it for me to be honest.

The instructor had ALL of the mirrors in the car I drove, looking at the cars in the background it looks like it was the same company.

The instructor I was in with was super sensitive about staying on the correct line, as you said I was no where near the limits and not trying to set a lap record so he could have lightened up a bit!

Some of the turn in points and lines seemed a bit strange to be honest but i'm sure he knew better than me (well I hope he did) I could have probably gone around faster in the Leon to be honest but that's just down to knowing the car, the Lambo would have caught me in the straights though!

Did you enjoy it? Im guessing not much :(

All these experience seem a bit strange too me. I did a Supercar experience at Thruxton in June and have to say it was the best thing I have ever done! The cars seem to be a bit more... modern there for a start, and I dont think there was a keep it in 3rd and 4th policy??? (150+ down the back straight in a 430 Scuderia ) What was the price for this and did you only get the one car

There wasn't anything wrong with the cars, Porsche 911 Turbo, AM V8, AM DB9, Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ferrari 360.

Don't get me wrong, the actual driving of the car was brilliant. It cost £99.00 and yes you only got a go in the one car.

There's lots of different offers on the website my friends got the deal from:

Virgin Experience Days - Gift Ideas | Experience Gifts

It gets very expensive if you want to drive multiple cars.

I have a voucher for one of those and have been looking at the super car things.

Problem is I have only been driving a year and the fastest/most powerful thing I have driven is a TDi Fiesta and was wondering if this would be a waste as I have had no practice at driving fast?

Do you reckon I would be better putting it to use on a skid-pan session or similar?

Just because it's a fast car doesn't mean you HAVE to drive it fast, for some reason everyone that went out in the Ferrari were just pootling around! The fastest car I have driven for any period of time is my Leon with 170bhp, the Lamborghini I drove has over 500bhp so a very big margin.

But you are correct with being a fairly new driver you may benefit from a skid pan or handling session rather than ragging a supercar in basically a straight line whilst pussy footing around the corners.
