Pics Of My Lowered Mk2 Octavia

Featured Replies

Hi all, thought id post a few pics up of my Octavia now on 30mm Eibach Lowering Springs.

The drop was about 45-50mm after i changed the springs as the others must have been towing springs.

Big thanks to Sarah over at Awesome GTI, know your looking forward to these pics.

Anyway, here are the pics.

That's lowered? Can't tell the difference between yours and mine.

I was thinking that lol

Could do with another 50mm

Mine is stock(sport suspention) and i think it is more lower

Definitely lowered.

You can tell by the gap around the tyre to the wheelarch. On a vRS, lowered 10mm from 'standard', the gap around the wheel is the same all the way around; on a 'standard' car there is a larger gap at the top of the wheel.

On Browny_37's car, the gap at the top of the wheel is less than the gap (wheel to wheelarch) level with the door cills. Its lowered!

Interesting wheels - 18" Audi TTs? ;)

What next?

I could fit my fist between the rear wheel and arch before with room to spare.

The tyres are of a smaller size, doubt it makes much difference but its got 215/45/R17's on opposed to 225/45/R17's but every little helps ;) May alter when the geometry has been set too.

Doesn't sound happy on the mini speed humps if you attack them wrong haha! Plus the towbar just misses the floor now going uphill into carparks.

There 17" RS4 Copies.

Standard Suspension

Makes enough difference for guys on here to notice. ;)

Lowered ?

Mine looks lower than that stock...

Imagine if i put a few 6" concrete block in the spare wheel well , then it'l look like a tarmac scrapper :rolleyes::D

Get the grinder & cut a coil or two off those springs !!!

Your Comparing to a VRS, probably on different shocks also.

Cant understand why people are obsessed, with having the wheels riding that far up the arches it looks like its going to do a land speed record run.

Heres a comparison of the previous springs and the new eibach ones.

No one got the minerals to say it isn't lowered now? hahaha!

why would you do that on a TDI 1.9??

waste of money...

The same reason anyone else would; better handling (and if you want looks).

HaHa, why have a 1.8TSI with DSG?

But that would mean im just being petty back.

Oh and mainly for the reason the front end kept sagging and the rear end stepped out, whilst touching the brakes. Try having to apply the brakes hard at 70-80mph on the motorway, using what looked like soft towing springs.

Proves very entertaining but so dangerous at the same time.

looks good browny_37.

Just one for you you have blanked out your reg from the front but have forgot to do it from one of the rear shots

Carl:thumbup:

it looks alot better, I bet you've noticed a massive difference in the cars handling ability during day to day tasks.

Sticks fairly well now, still waiting for my mechanic to get his geo gear back....get all 4 tyres replaced or get some 18's and have it sorted out.

Looks great, but whose the very ghostly looking figure sat in the car int he 3rd pic!

Hi

Nice , looks good , clean too

I agree love the wheels.....

Stuuning car , always liked black....but not got patience to clean it

Nice , they do tend to sit better after a while after they have settled too

 thank you for the link too :D

Sarah

Sorry, I take it back, it does look better now that I have seen a picture of the stilts it was on and yep it should settle after a while.

Was out in it last night, and where other cars tyres hadn't cleared the snow from the middle of the lane. The underneath of the car was catching the snow as i was crawling along. Wasn't all that deep either.

Bertee im thinking the shocks may have been uprated for towing previously, so could be them that arn't letting it settle fully. Was wanting to take some koni fsd's with me but couldnt bare the price of them for me to take the springs and shocks at the same time.

These are the wheels im thinking of getting, can i have your opinions ppl?

Those wheels aren't that much different looking to what you have on now, I'd keep what youve got

Those wheels are very nice
