Is it downhill for me now?

Featured Replies

After 6 months and 30k miles into my volvo owner ship i have to say i am rather impressed.

Only fault so far has been the turbo going (possibly my fault) and the re-occuring DPF problem ( which should be solved when i buy a new one :D)

Difference between the volvo and the fabia are:

The volvo is slower...... alot slowed.. but i guess thats to be expected going from 230bhp to only 136bhp.

The volvo handles alot better, and i mean alot better. even with the jabba bar and the full kw setup on the fabia its no match for the s40's (focus ;)) chassis.

The fuel economny is pretty poor with the swede. Even in its highly tuned state the fabia would see 50+mpg on a run....... currently i struggle to see 45 on my 50 mile commute :(

Now to the point of this thread.......... I did my first mod today :D

I colour coded the grill  and i think ive got the bug for more modding again :o i think suitable lowering is needed next.

Before- chrome grill

Looks loads better mate. Did you do mine at the same time? ;)

Looks nice John, just needs the Skoda badge on the front now :)

Goes well with the Hi-Viz jacket undercover look!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the fabia BEGIN with 6bhp less than the volvo? :P

I like that :o

Nowt to do with me, it's organised through Passion Ford. LINK

Surely the ST engine will just drop right in? :P

Nice car..... since i got my fabia i've had this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that i wish i had gone for an s40 or a c30. Though that would of required me getting some finance on top of the price paid for the fab. All in all i'm happy, until people start waving their shiney s40's under my nose! :P

I wouldnt worry about it tbh.

Just remember that these s40's for some reason depreciate like a rock falling from a high building.

Put it another way my s40 now is only worth about 1k more than i got trade in for my fabia 6 months ago :( its lost nearly half its value in 6 months

It doesnt really bother me, as i see this one as a keeper :D

Next on the list is some eibachs and some FSD's....... they make them for volvos hahaha

You mean the volvo T5 engine......yes but i might as well just buy a t5 :P

No i think get rid of the DPF and then map some might see me closer to 200bhp :D

then its into the realms of turbos and clutchs....... doesnt need a fmic as its already got one.... and its huge :D

I'm sure you said it had no DPF on it when you first bought it

DMFs fail very frequently , FoMoCo parts you see :thumbdwn:

I thought it didnt, until the cel light came on adn the dealers said it was the dpf blocked.

Not that problem again:(

Someone who used to have a >200bhp fabia managed to block a DPF? What've you been doing? :D
