Modded vRS or brand new Cupra TDI

Featured Replies

Just wondering, which one would be the most cost effective ultimately, a Seat Ibiza Cupra TDI or would modding the vRS be more cost effective. I'd want the braking performance, straight line speed and handling to at least match up with the Cupra TDI.

I still undecided whether to mod my car (main thing putting me off - lack of money) or just chop it in and get a Cupra TDI.

Sounds like you should change it as you obviously dont seem happy with it currently!

One big problem i see is

"still undecided whether to mod my car (main thing putting me off - lack of money) or just chop it in and get a Cupra TDI"

Modding you car maybe a few grand max but your getting put of by lack of money.

but you could afford a cupra at about

Why am I, and I quote, "obviously unhappy with it"?

I didnt write that anywhere in my post did I?

Anyway, the extra cash on the Cupra would be paid back on finance over several years. I dont have the cash lying about for all the stuff I want to do. Wont the resale value and insurance of the vRS be hit even harder by modding than a Cupra.

These are all theoretical questions, but please dont assume I am saying I dont like the car, because I am not, ok?

Why take out finance for another new car?

Mod the furby, and pay it off on a 6/9 months 0% APR credit card. Just keep transferring the balance until it's clear ;)

Sorry you didnt say that directly.

Its just i saw one of your topics a few days back "Fabia vRS performance feels "nothing special", where you compared it to a noraml 2.0 car. I put that with this post and it just appears your not overjoyed with the car.

If you dont have the money you could get a loan which is identical to finance but better APR than many car manufactures. Also a modded car can nearly aways be put back to normal if you want to sell it standard, just keep all the parts.

Well to get the straight line speed to match (or better) the cupra you'll need a remap. Price range from

all I'm saying is the ibiza is bloody awful looking :)

Hehe, clever, I like it!

So we are looking at just shy of

i also really like the Furby standard 16's, bt would like them grey!

I test drove an Ibiza Cupra TDI before I test drove the Fabia vRS.

TBH, I felt there there wasn't much in it between the two. Certainly not enough to justify spending another

The ibiza isn't as nice looking, its more expensive, and it has silly bloody wing mirrors. A modded Furby will be far far nicer plus probably still cheaper to insure. Ibiza TDI cupra is the same price as the leon TDI cupra !!!!

If you want the braking performance of the Cupra or my vRS you need bigger wheels im afraid.

Id go for the Leon Cupra TDi over the Ibiza anyday tbh.

Do the Octavia RS brakes not measure up comparably to the Cupra?

I'd really rather not get bigger wheels.

The Octavia brakes are good and alot better than standard, but they aint in the league of the four pots no.
