Skoda Assistance renewal?

Featured Replies

I got a letter through from them the other day, offering me the chance the renew with them in march for £85 for a year, or a little less than double that for two years. How many of you have renewed this when your three years is up? If you havn't, why not? Also, has anyone had any good or bad experiences with them to sway their decision?

It's only the RAC, so use your freedom benifit and bag some discount ;)

I used them the other month when my glowplug light came on for no apparant reason (free with the car), they were good. Its actually VW assistance or RAC when VW arent available. I'll keep my RAC too as there are many more benefits for less money than you've been offered.

Here in Sweden we get a free renewal (max. 15 yrs) if we do the regular service at a VAG garage. So I do all expensive work at an independent and the regular basic service at the VAG dealer

EDIT: not any longer. Just checked with the VAG garage what they charge for a service (SWMBOs Octy is due for it). £370  OK, they offer a 20 % discount, so £295 - but the offer from my independent mech is £205 - and I can get a breakdown cover equal to Skoda Assist for £40. Farewell, VAG :wave23d:

But check Compare Breakdown Cover - The Breakdown Cover Comparison Site | Breakdown, Cover, Rac, Price, Assistance | More Th>n - Roadside Assistance

I renewed both the assistance package and the warranty on my old vRS. I would make sure that they inform Skoda once they give you the paper work. i had to call them out and it took about an hour of phone calls before I got any assistance. The dealers had not updated the data base

I had 2 claims under the "warranty", both times I ended up paying :(

They were great when I had to call them out, on a Sunday afternoon last year. They were there in 15mins, the call centre I spoke to was in UK and they couldn't have been more helpful!

I got the renewal through, and although they cost about £20 more than a firm I was with years ago, I'm happy to pay it for the peace of mind.
