Trying to determine if a vehicle is PD or CR. Is there an easy way?

This is how a PD looks like, the CR looks different.

CR looks like this, although the engine cover in an Octavia is completely black (couldnt find a better pic)

Probably the safest way given that they may change the type of engine cover

No definitely not. Gone from a PD to a CR. The silence is great.

When a CR diesel is warmed up its as quiet as my old MKV Gti :-O

That looks like the easiest way to tell (no pump on the front of the PD engine).

Interesting to see that the Intake/Airbox is the same on the CR; useful for those that are thinking of modding.

.... but I like the growling of the PD engine when on full throttle :D it gives the car some character.

Check The Tax Disc !!! CR is in the £120 band (08 year) rising to (£125 09)and the PD is higher band (£145 for 08 and £150 for 09)

but not much good if you are in Ireland or Europe. :rofl: (although the principal is correct).
