Window tinting

Tints rather than blinds

Not even got the car yet but I've sorted my tints from my usual tint guy SD Autotints 20% on the rear only.

I have blinds (Skoda official accessories) and externally you would think the windows are tinted. I can remove them any time, and with the windows down the blinds stay in place and allow air flow while keeping the sun and bugs out.

Tints cannot do the above. Total cost for blinds from your Skoda dealer is ITRO of £70 and you can fit them in the car park in 5 minutes flat.

But that's what climate control is for

Yup, so I do leave my windows up most of the time. Still would rather have blinds than tints though, they (tints) can look tatty after a year or so.

Personally i disagree it depends who does them i had mine on my 5 series for 2 years and they were absolutely fine, although no doubt if they used a cheap film it would look awful.

Are the official Skoda blinds custom fit or generic across the range? If they're made to measure, for 70 quid it's a no brainer imo.

They're made to measure, fit absolutely perfectly, don't rattle, look good etc.

Just spoke to Skoda and the made to measure estate door blind is over 60 quid by itself! :o How did you manage to get the complete set for 70 quid? :S

Mine is a hatchback, looks like they're actually £78

KCD609004 Rear sunblinds, side window for Octavia £78.00

Estate should be same price:

KCD629002 Rear sunblinds, side window for Octavia Estate £78.00

You get a pair for the above price.

It is priced for a pair, but on the estate you've got the extra 2 windows past the rear doors so another 70ish quid and add to that Skoda parts just rang me back to say the price they quoted was ex-VAT on the tailgate blind :@ so for the complete set over 200 quid!! Think I will stick with the eBay ones and get the tailgate window tinted if the join in the blinds gets on 'em!

You checked Palm Automotive/OE Sunshades Pagey? Not sure what you've found on eBay but they often list them.

Heard good things about them - quality seems the same as the Skoda ones

It appears that Palm Automotive are now Vanstyle and they are the seller of the ones in my previous link, they do have a website but their blinds are cheaper through the bay.
