Featured Replies

Hi guys a bloke at work has a right hand drive Vrs on an 04 plate but unlike all the other Vrs i have seen that have an ASR switch his has an ESP switch the only difference is that his was registered in Malta and imported new and my 54 plate is a true Brit ...whats that all about then ???????:confused::eek:

ESP was available as an option. So I guess his has that option!

i get where your coming from with that one on the ASR front mate its the first button i press after starting the car he he he but is ESP really that much use ???:D

Watch this:

ESP is pretty impressive. I've sat in a car with a retard driving a new Audi TT around the Nurburgring. The ESP was constantly saving us! Very clever stuff.

That's an excellent video, Rob. :)

I remember watching it on TV and wishing I'd specified the ESP option on the Octy.

what for mate?

just dont get in to that sort of situation lol, any mong can drive with all the modern electro gadgets. But it takes a driver to drive one without the sh1te on it.

oh n I never new ESP was an option? same as the sun roof. what else was optional?

It would be nice to have just in case - it's one of those things that you hope to never use but could save your life in a moment of inattention - especially on NZ roads.

Options I have are Xenons and rear parking sensors.

Others available included:

Heated seats

Auto dimming rear view mirror

Maxidot display

Bose speaker upgrade (I think)

Cruise control (retro-fitted now)

Probably loads of others

Cruise control

Heated front seats

Parking sensors

Xenon headlights (with headlight washers)

Front passenger airbag deactivation switch

Satellite navigation system

Side airbags

These are all listed in a 1st July 2004 RRP List and Tech Spec.

WOW

no way, I was only made aware of met paint, cruise, sensors, Lights.

couldnt afford 650 for the xenons so that was the only thing i didnt get.

but lookin back I would of liked the xenons, sat nav,

not the sun roof though as with age i would of thought it may leak? cheers

I picked up the Skoda Sat NAV unit for 300 quid on ebay. I think it was 4 or 5 times that as an optional extra when new. Not as good as Tom Tom but fills the Doube din Radio hole better than a single din unit.I do also use it regularly.

We bought ours new and went for:

Heated seats

Airbag switch

Parking sensors

Would've liked a sunroof, but was quite pricey.

Wasn't the sunroof something daft like 900 quid?

Rob, it was well over £1K IIRC!

funnily enough, i have just purchased a Vrs. Although at the time i was not made aware that it was an import i now know. It to was imported from Malta when new and has ESP.

Hee hee, if you buy a 4x4 you get ESP as standard, + a sunroof.:rofl::rofl::rofl:
