Audi TT Comps on a mk1 Octavia vRS???

Featured Replies

What profile tyre would you need to fit these on a Fabia?

40 i think

standards are 16" with a 45 profile

so moving up to 17" needs a 40 profile to keep the rolling radius almost the same meaning the variance on speedo doesn't read wrong too much and no scrubbing

I think it's 205/40/R17 you will need to fit these on a Fabia, although i could be wrong.

This (TT alloys on the Octavia) is something that I've been thinking about for some time, and think that the Comps look very good on N50 VRS's car.

So, I picked up set of TT alloys at the weekend (but thinner spokes than the Comps) and fitted them the other night.

As I wanted to keep ride comfort at the same level for the moment, and to avoid an increase in insurance (and as it's only a trial, they're cheaper than 17's  ) I decided to stick with 16" diameter.

I am undecidedon how these look on a silver estate, and think the Comps look better - or perhaps they just look better on a black car/hatch?

These alloys are ET31 btw.

I like them... but think it would look better lower due to the "thick" spokes and the "thin" profile of the Octavia :)

i dont like em :( sorry

They look great.

As you say, nothing fancy, just nice clean, tidy no fuss wheels.

Keep em ! :D

Nice, works with the black.

i like them, glad to see someone getting the use of them. Cracking tyres on them! I like them! Think they suit it.

I had to take a 2nd look, I thought you had fitted some Elegance Alloys, In my opinion the estates look great with thick spoke alloys although the ride height doesn't show the wheels off fully.

Agreed they look (at a glance) identical to the elegance alloys (which I think are fine, have done me for the past five years anyway!).

Also agree with the OP that the factory vRS wheels are hard to beat - not that the TT's look at all bad, just the Skoda originals are exceptional IMO.

Yeah you definately can't beat the original vRS spiders.

Saying that though the TT Comps are really growing on me the longer i've had them on the car.

whichever you decide to keep there'll be hundreds of Fabia drivers (and from the other replies a few Octy drivers too) eager to get at the other set!:D:rofl:

lol well i think they look rubbish on your car so you should just give them to me!

only messing mate, looks better and better the more i look at it! top job!

I totally agree that whilst it does look a bit higher than normal due to the terrain there, on a flat surface the car does look to sit higher, despite being the same height off the ground.

The point about Elegance alloys was my first thought too - they look very similar and "flat", and almost seem beyond the point of understated to be approaching bland.

I'm going to look around for 5 spokes that have more "curve" to the spokes, and moving up to 17" or even 18". I'm playing with the idea of Subaru alloys and 15-18mm spacers to allow for the offset as I saw a cracking pair on an 04 Legacy estate the other night. I'll try a pair off my mates 02 Impreza on and see what they look like for offset, etc.

Surely spacers must add more strain to bearings though?

Like a lot of others though, I do like the "openness" of the spiders and think they suit the Octavia so well. But do like a good shapely set of 5 spokes just as much.

Oh well......time will tell!

Has my thread been hijacked! :)

Them alloys are looking good on the estate mate, but TT Comps would look better as like has already been said the spokes are abit wider.

Still i quite like them.

looks good!

The OPs alloys look fantastic on an Octavia.

Just wish they came in 18/19", as they'd be the mutts!
