Can I /Should I claim ???

Featured Replies

Friday evening I was pulling into a parking bay in the dark and I clouted the the front bumper on a bollard which had been vandalised. I took a nice chunk out of my bumper. So I am wondering if I can try and claim against the council for the damage.

Now I'm not the type that goes for all this blame and claim crap, but I'm just wondering as the bollard clearly has some sort of marking on it to say it's been noticed by the council.

Is it my own stupid fault (probably) or are they liable.

Opinons please :)

Some pics of the offending bollard :rofl::rofl::rofl:

it looks like they already know about it with the yellow paint on it, worth a try as you dont expect a small stomp to be there, either the full monty or nothing at all.

Get a claim in! most councils will cough up as they don't like paying legal fees in the small claims court. *sucks air through pursed lips* looks an expensive job, about $17.5K i reckon.....

Depends how bad the damage is really.

Get a quote from a paint shop to fix is up, write to the council asking for the money.

Can't you see it on my picture lol

It ain't massive but I had a near perfect bumper before and no it catches my eye, silver bumper with black gouges not good imo.

I've D/L'd the local councils claim form and I'm off to a local "pay and spray" shortly,

We shall see !!!!

Thanks for the advice:thumbup::thumbup:
