Tyre selection

Featured Replies

Was thinking of changing my tyres ans woundered if yous had any ideas what i should go for, standard alloys on car? Michelin, Pirelli?

The search button is your friend, loads of posts about tyres, its all about personal preference.

I rated Toyo Proxey T1-r's in 225/45/17 (Standard Alloys)on my old Octy vRS, others have their own likes and dislikes.

I assume we are talking Octy vRS, or another model ???

Toyo Proxes T1-R for me. As for the search button, I'd bet it would return so many hits as to be useless rather than none at all. At least that's been my experience:- info overload or null returns.

Lex has had some great results from Hankook V12 evos so they're worth a shot :thumbup:

Had them on for a week now and I will definitely only buy these again, granted the Enduro's I had on before these where utter poo but you don't realise how bad until you have decent rubber.

I really gave them a good test yesterday evening and can say with complete confidence they do not like to let go of the road :D

Anyone with experience with Falken FK-452 tyres? I`m changing tyres in next couple od weeks. Clicky

I know you can get them here FALKEN TYRES / CAR / FALKEN FK452 FALKEN FK 452 - 205/50R17 93Y XL TL :: £62.40 :: Car Tyres - MPV Tyres - People Carrier Tyres :: R17" - 205/50/17, 205/50 R 17 :: for considerably less. This is where I get my tyres from.

Had FK452's in that size when I had standard wheels and I liked them but for the extra £7 I would get the ones I'm currently running :thumbup: oh and if you get mine in 225/45 17 it's only about £2 over the price of the 452 in the size you quoted

What`s it like to run 45 profile on VRS? Dont they look too small? Had a vectra b gsi with 17 inch alloys before, 215/45/17 is the correct size for these cars, any lower profile would look stupid.

profile is a percentage of width so 50% of 205 is 102.5mm wall and 45% of 225 is 101.25mm wall so you will never see any difference HTH

Thanks for that, for the link as well. If I buy from them, what`s the best place to get them fitted? I know kwikfit wouldnt, tried them before :mad:

Most tyre places will do it for around £10 a corner balanced and fitted so it's worth phoning around. I use an indi tyre fitter rather than the bigger chains they welcome the work and tend to have better customer service.
