I know they are a bit of Marmite accessory , but getting the bonnet sorted out (muchas stones chips) and wondered if anyone knew where i can get a car bra from for my Superb for when i go long distance like to France.

Does anyone have one (whatever car), are they any good???

They can be just as bad, if not worse for the paintwork. They do stop stone chips, but the slightest grain of dirt and the slight movement of the bra with the dirt underneath will rub away all the top coat and leave very fine scratches dulling the paint.

There is only one manufacturer in the UK and they dont do one for the superb, only fabia and octavia.

yeah wasn't 100% if they would rub thats why wondered if anyone had one, but not one of those full frontal jobs, just the front edge of the bonnet.

Venture shield os one company that does the plastic and would probably cost similar.

I'd go for one of the paint guard systems myself.

I don't have a Superb but an Octy, and the bonnet doesn't seem to chip much, although I've picked up some stone chips between the windscreen rail and the sunroof! :confused:

Why not have a vinyl graphics company make you a carbon fiber effect bonnet graphic. I would rather re-paint stone chips than fit a car bra, they look absolutely naff. :thumbdwn:

what about going to some sign making company and have some graphics made up for the front then it will protect it and you just need to peel it off when you finished.

You can't source a car bra for the Superb as it's the centre grille section on the bonnet that causes the problems............I sourced a Passat B5 one and modified it to fit and ran with it for a while but it was more bother than it was worth so ditched the idea..............

Now I have so much wax and sealant on the car that anything that hits it just slides off.............

I got the leading edge of the bonnet done on my Octy by Premier Paint Guard they use 3M Scotchgard film, you can hardly see it unless you look really close up, top job very professional no more chips !!.
