N75 Valve?

Featured Replies

I've noticed my VRS hesitating around 1,500 - 2000 rpm and been advised it could be the N75 valve, so going to replace it see if cures it, but I've seen them ending with different letters i.e 058906283F or J etc - which do I chose for a standard 2002?!

Thanks in advanced!

Zoe

Stick to F :)

I'd be supprised if it is the N75 valve though at those RPM.

Thanks very much Kev for the prompt response! :)

(this will be ok if I decide to have it remapped in the future too?)

Zoe

Yeah of course.

Even more ok if it's mapped with us ;)

Cheers

Kev

Actually Skoda have superceded the F with 06A-906-283-E. Don't know what the differences are in operation or their reasoning for doing it though

At those RPM it may be the throttle body needs a clean. Mine had a flat spot at around 1800 revs and cleaning the TB cured it.

It's a half hour job and you just need a can of spray cleaner, a cloth and a new gasket which costs a couple of quid from the dealer.

Ah bummer, other suggestion was standard dump valve, but I don't want a barryboy psht one! lol

Zoe

I agree with chicken try the throttle body clean.

I'll try that first then, just a bit of carb cleaner (a new gasket) and blue roll to wipe it out suffice? And if I do it in-situ without unplugging it wont need to be realigned?!

If do replace the N75 sensor is it just a simple unplug the existing and put in the new one?

Yep, that should be all you need for the TB clean. As long as you don't unplug it you shouldn't have to worry about getting it reset with VAG-com. Also get someone else to turn the ignition to position 1 and press down on the accelerator pedal to open the flap in the TB so you can clean around that properly (cotton wool bud is handy for that).

N75 should be a straight swap.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

try a forge 007p as they are a Recirculating valve same as the standard Bosch one.

If you are doing it on your own then a house brick on the pedal works OK(just watch your fingers incase it moves. I used a toothbrush to be on the safe side, that butterfly is sharp on the edges.

Cotton buds are perfect for the intricate bits. I couldn't actually open my butterfly as I completely removed my TB to clean it but the jet spray action of the carb cleaner blasted the gunk out and when I finished and held it up and looked through there was a pleasing halo of light around the butterfly which wasn't visible before the clean up.

Will do that this weekend then - Jas is going to treat me to a K&N (or Pipercross) panel filter - maybe I could accidentally order a cat back exhaust and remap at the same time  see if can give our cossie a run for its money :D

Ah well, you can't have an atmospheric wastegate on an Octy anyway. The EMS gets upset if you don't use a recirculating dump valve.

And if you're a girl, well done for being prepared to get your hands dirty!

Why not? Ive had one on my octy Vrs for two months now and no problems with running or mil light on

The ECU will see it as a leak. The MAF obviously measures the volume of air entering the system, and the ECU is going to get confused when it's randomly missing a quantity of air.

Might cause some rich running, not sure though.

If your only running low boost and not dumping constantly, maybe it won't notice. But if your running 20psi boost and charging through the gears, it's gotta notice the missing volume.

Or maybe your just lucky!

Exactly; there are plenty of threads around here about people who've burgered up their running with an atmo wastegate.
