The old 80 avant failed it's MOT and I decided to scrap it and get another motor with near as possible 12 months MOT for moving Charlie around in for gundog training etc

Got the escort from my local auction house last night.

Run it till it dies... or until the A4 saloon gets swapped for an MkII Octi vRS Combi or B7 A4 Avant

Shame about the 80, it seemed to be going well when I saw it?

Yeah it was, but needed a new cat and back box, thermostat, powersteering pump and the emissions were high (prob the cat - hence the mot failure). Just the parts would have added up to more than I paid for the escort.

Just put some petrol in and found the fuel cap was missing.... so a new one from the local motor factors plus a temp sensor, makes the total outlay of £270

So, adding a tank of fuel will add about 15-20% to the value of the car? For some reason I find that funny..........

Car now sold..... couldn't stand driving a ford any longer.... now on the hunt for an old polo in the fastback mini estate varient.

Charlie won't been seen in anything other than a VAG motor apparantly .... lol
