vRS Brake Upgrade

Featured Replies

what about EBC Red Stuff pads they are ceramic coat. they squeek at first, but when they bed and warm up they make the brake nice and sharpish.

I had those on my Clio 182 and they were fantastic pads. I gave them hell and never had any issues with fade or squeal. They're low dust too which is nice when you come to clean the wheels!

EBC pads are bush. Had YellowStuffs in the big calipers on the S2 and they were total rubbish when cold and got so hot on a trackday that the friction surface broke down and bubbled up.

Changed to Ferodo DS2500 and never looked back.

Was that quite a while ago? The reason I ask is that I had heard some not-so-great things about EBC pads, but their quality control has improved a great deal over the past few years.

As I said before, I had both Greenstuff and Redstuff on my Clio and used both for trackdays and I was really impressed by the Redstuffs.

ive heard bad things also, however what do you reckon of the chances of a bad batch or maybe one or two bad experiences, maybe caused by not bedding in correctly, which have been put in a post somewhere on some forum, which has then been echoed around other forums, then before you know it, EBC are the worst pads in the world. At the end of the day they might not be as good as DS2500s but i bet they are way better than Oem pads.

Id still get the DS2500s, I have never read one bad review on the perfomance from them

It was 2 years ago so I guess things may have improved.
