It's been a while since the car was last seen!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

It's been a while since I stuck up some piccies of the car but due to the loss of my Grandad :( I decided that with having a long weekend off this week to clean the car and show off some of the wee things I have done to the car since I last stuck pics up.

A month or so ago I decided to remove the Colin McRae Stickers off the car to make the car look fresh and prepare it for what is in store after April.

Next on my list of mods was the Briskoda Number plate front and rear surrounds

Within the last two weeks I have had two nearly new rear tyre's fitted (Thanks to Johnny50 for supplying these) but not a happy bunny with the tyre company who fitted them as they scuffered the wheel on the ground, I only found out today when I cleaned the wheels.

Adding to my bad news and my luck of the car, SWMBO decided to be helpful one day and wanted to find out where the water from the wiper washer was coming from the bad news was the jack slipped and caused this to happen! :(

And here is a wee teaser on what is going to happen to the car over the next few months, coilys, and a bit of stretch, I've seen a couple of fabia's on here and quite like the look.

So what is next apart from a bit of poke and tuck?

German style plates

Roof Racks to carry my new toy in my life

A wee update!!

The black grill surround and black fog lamp surrounds are calling you urgently IMHO!

I know that is another thing I really need to do on the car.

First of all, I'd like to say I'm sorry for the loss of your grandad.

I really love th look of your car from the side, and it looks a lot tidier without the McRae stickers. Good move. However, I think the rear end looks like you had an accident in a sticker factory. I'd tone it down, and keep just one or two - probably the Briskoda one in the window and the Scottish VAG one. The rest just make it look cluttered, IMO.

German plates are a good idea as they look great, but the Scottish rozzers are pretty hot on it, so be careful. You might want to consider the road legal versions available on Dubmeister.

is that lowered at the moment ?

you need some tyre dressing :) other than that looks good

Your car looks really small on this one!

All part of the plan to declutter the stickers but not had much time as yet will get round to it in april.

Yeah thats the plates I'm after the legal ones on the car.

Brun- Yeah have to admit ran out of tyre dressing and the car is lowered about 25 mil.

Decided to climb a wee hill!

Plans sound good mate

Sorry about your loss Davy

Sorry for your loss Davy, I lost my Grandad back in 2001 and recently my Uncle in December.

Chris

will be good to see it go down some more :D

Your saddle's too low, And get toe clips or pedals and shoes.

Coillies would look good, But the roads in and around E'burgh are **** can you afford to sacrifice comfort?

Get Toyo's on the front and lose the ditchfinders

Poke and tuck? Kinda opposites, be nice to see that one pulled off..lol

Sorry to hear about your recent loss, glad your back on it though and modding the Fabia up.

Davy

on which springs ?

Looking good mate, with some nice plans lined up as well

Sorry to hear about your loss :(

on which springs ?

Weitecs if i remember.

Looking good Davy...but if it were me i'd lose all the stickers from the back....bit much. (for my liking...not everyones view) ;)

Looking good mate.

Like the black B pillars - got some of the Skoda ones off a member on here but they looked a mess when I tried them on one side of my car - not sure if that was the sticker design or my fitting skills - so I took them off again. And taking them off was even harder than putting them on.

Agree with others about decluttering the rear too

If I might make a suggestion, there's a side view where you can see a wee strip of yellow (either B-pillar or edge of window surround). I'd paint that semi-gloss black. If you go to one of the model-making shops and ask for Humbrol 85 silk black (12ml for window frames; 100ml for the B-post), and about a number 5 brush.

Saddle on bike is a bit higher now Mike, just the pic at the time was when I just got it, the frame is smaller than normal.

That's the thing about the coily's everywhere I go I'm going to have lose the comfort of the car.

Johhny50- More stickers are coming off, got a few days off this week so going to be working on the car giving it another clean and some destickering, quite fancy the tints now, but going to have to wait till after April.

Ken O'Neil - I know what you mean about the B Pillar vinyal, need to get that sorted.

Thanks for all the kind comments and to whoever asked about the springs they are weitecs.

Cheers

Davy

Defo ditch the stickers from the back mate

Here's a wee "thought" for you........how about doing the inserts of your headlights black or even better (just to be different) yellow????

hhhhhmmmmmmm....................... ;)

Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me, apart from getting a couple of acdc albums I bought myself this today, looks nothing special at first but look closer.

What is this couple of wires poking out from the washer bottle thats attached to the box ???? ....

P1020206.jpg

Aha the mystery is solved...

P1020207.jpg

Picked this up today from a member of Scottish Vag, and coming home from Prestonpans to my parents house I noticed a big difference in fuel economy driving steady and a nice wee burst of acceration as well when you put your foot down.

Need to get it on a rollers to see what I have to play with now.

So much for leaving it standard :rofl:

Cheers

Davy

Simon got you sorted then ? ;)

Nice one Davy boy. :D

  • Author

He did indeed, was not something I was going to get but the price was right so I just bought it.

Quite right Mr.

So whats next to be done from your big list ?

  • Author

Well I really need to purchase a roof rack for the summer and some german style plates (legal ones) and thats me content for the time being me thinks.
