Apart from all the trouble on the saturday night myself and Skodagirl enjoyed the weekend, good to meet Gilly and family, I was speaking to a friend yesterday on another car forum and it seems like Billing is quite good at causing problems, last year his car club attended for their national day alongside another car club where excessive drinking and drug taking took place but no fights, still left them feeling a bit uneasy at night.

I'm in the process of sending a e-mail to billing, I'm not good at wording letters so getting my dad 450 miles away in edinburgh to proof read it/amend if required and I will post up what I have written and post up if I get a reply.

Cheers

nice one davy, the sacked security incident was back in March (was hoping it was this weekend) but if you look around the forum which i didnt know existed on the biling site then you will see how bad things are like even residents moaning of speeding. The site security did set up cordons not for speeding but to all entrances to the residents area to protect them at the weekend from loud music and cars, so it seems unless you a resident they dont even give a t0ss.

One thing you might want to mention to them is about what their own residents have said, people who live there all the time and they have the same concerns as the rest of us.

The land rover site link above i think said a lot to, dont forget to mention that we have hair dressers, drivers, public servants etc amongst our group and talk to many different people each day, just briskoda and the people we all know could get this weekend known to a million people in weeks.

I do think they have been poor about dealing with angela even through they admitted it had been a disaster and the offer to come to the balloon fiesta in August, as much as i love balloon fiestas i have heard to many bad things about the northampton one and if its held on biling i would want my own personal protection team to protect me and my family.

Still how about a brisky trip to baghdad, heard its much safer

Here's my mail to aquadrome and the owners, i dont think that i missed any thing out...:D

June 2009 22:40:49

To: [email protected]; [email protected]

To whom this may concern,

I am writing this email to you in complaint to the problems our friends and family encountered this weekend on the site, and how much in contrast to our previous stay it was in june.

We booked up this weekend in faith and the belief that the stay would be as fantastic and enjoyable as the first had been, and also had friends joining us as well this weekend as part of the briskoda car meet, at first we were offered the events field but thought that we after seeing the site would prefer to be else where and was glad to accept swan fields and delighted at the customer service we received in aspect to this change that we made to the booking, We at the time of the booking was unaware of the ignition car event that was also to be held the same weekend as our next visit, once aware decided that we would still honour the booking reassuring ourselves and friends that there would be no worries as our previous visit had been at the same time that the American Hot rods show was also on sight and had enjoyed what we had seen and encountered.

We arrived on friday afternoon , and from the early evening things went rapidly down hill for our group on the site, firstly on walking the dog my partner and dog were almost ran over by what turned out to be a resident, who then continued in pushing over my partner and continuing to cause a fight with him. The driver a resident was driving a black audi and was clearly speeding through the area of swan fields, some one that was following the audi saw the incident and tried also to diffuse the situation. security did try to resolve this, and took my partner around to identify the driver, the reg of the audi was, ky56 omr, but at the time due to only having a part reg of the car security could not identify the driver and car.

Due to the event there seemed to be a huge lack in security on the site through out the weekend, When we were in need of assistance again through the weekend, again due to another resident, we had difficulty is gaining the help we needed to resolve a situation, the resident of 76 new lake views over looking the area in swan fields that we were camping, did not have his staffordshire pit-bull terrier on a lead, resulting in his dog coming in the area we were sat and attacking my dog who as with the rules had been on his lead and unable to go far as it was his normal walk lead, my dog was unable to remove him self from the danger and the owner of the the staffy did not care and was very unwilling to remove his dog, this resulted in members of our group becoming angry, when security did arrive had it not been for the head of security, the situation would not of been defused, one of the security guards, female, with blonde curly hair, made the situation worse and resulted in causing my partner to become more angry with the event, and my self feeling very disappointed in the fact that the man was told simply to take his dog back to him home, had my dog been seriously injured then what?

The toilet and shower facilities with in the site by sunday morning were pretty unusable in most cases, with vandalism, sick faeces and blood covering the majority of them, the toilets next to the events field and public path, before the shops, had the down pipes pulled out resulting in flooding and making the use of them dangerous.

The guests of ignition cause the most disruption to the site over the weekend, there were allot of people openly driving around the site that were unfit to do so through the use of drink and drugs, and were not stopped, speeding, allowing underage children driving, three people sitting in the front of cars and also using the boot of cars as a means to transport more than the legal amount of passengers, Also a visitor or the resident of 74 new lake view, was driving a blue corsa and making several trips to and from the static drinking and driving, and also cutting through the fields and not sticking on the road. At one point whilst using the pink and blue toilets it was apparent that people were doing wheel spins and in the sight of security when making them aware to this the response was that they were dealing with some thing, when to us it appeared more like they were more busy chatting to a group of young ladies.

There was issues with gangs, one of which were camped very close to us of 2 girls and 3 men, all under the influence of drink and openly taking drugs, this group was escorted of the site at about 4 am, and approx half and hr later a group of about 20 were also surrounded, and escorted, the presence of these people resulted in a member of our group being verbally abused when going to use the toilets( in her 60's). We were also made aware that there had been bare knuckle fighting also happening on the site. The lack in the number of security resulted in things being able to get very out of control over several occasions over this weekend, my partner stayed up through the night of saturday into sunday, as he could not relax and wished to watch over us in case any problems coming our way again. also one of the group when booking had requested electric hook-up, which then was not advised where it was and that it was not where we would be, a female security guard, blonde with curly hair, approached the families trailer-tent, and continued to speak unkindly with the children not even asking for parents, and took it upon her self to remove this with out advising the owner first.

When i went in to complain too the reception area, although the rep was understanding and listened to all i had to say i was left disheartened from the compensation offered, a free night on our next stay, when it was made exceptionally clear that we would not ever consider staying at the site again, so the offer of a free night is some what of an insult and will not be taken up.

The sites need so much to be reviewed, security need increasing on such events as well as the event organisers to bring in their own, freeing up security to help visitors on the site and not have to spend all their time dealing with the fallout of the poor organisation of an event, there needs to be tighter rules for any one passing through the site for drinking and driving and keeping the grounds safe for pedestrians at all times. toilets and showers need to be monitored more to stop the misuse in them resulting in them being dangerous and so unclean that they are unable to be used, is there any plans to increase toilets and showers? as swan fields closest toilets, the females was out of order and the men's left unusable for any one. Do residents have to stick to the same driving and animal rules as those camping on the site? as it was a resident on both occasions that resulted in our personal problems. I was advised that Max power were not allowed another event on site, however ignition are under the max power umbrella, and also have been told by a friend, that land rover will also no longer hold events on site due to issues. I was left appalled also by the state of the lakes and grass areas in the site, litter, dangerous to wildlife in almost every lake was there, and people not picking up after their dogs, this leaves a feeling of disgust that the nature and wildlife is left to deal with this, and ground workers are not.

What is the policy on same sex groups and large numbers in a group? as at times this is a massive factor in trouble making. I strongly recommend that you invest in improving the grounds and security on the grounds before building the leisure complex, that shall it be open to the public also will most likely bring in more trouble, and given the ability for any one to walk through the site as it has public right of way on the paths through the area, how do you attend to make the security and site improved when this factor is still very much a threat to safety and assurance of those choosing to stay.

I hope that you take this complaint seriously and do not disregard it, my family, friends and my self have all been left feeling so utterly disappointed, disgusted and unsettled by the experience that we had in your site, and as we had organised the get together feeling very guilty that we had allowed friends to endure this at our recommendation. We were also left feeling very relived that we did not have our young daughter with us, as she would of clearly been exceptionally distressed by these events and is very vunerable, and do not wish to consider the result this would held on her, and feel sorry for any one camping with young children who had this experience to. Again I stress to you the insult that the offer of one night free, after all of this, when its clear that we will never return to your site, and strongly recommend that none of our friends and family do in the future, as i'm sure your aware, word of mouth is very damaging when it is bad, and this leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and very much wish that this email had been positive feed back to you.

I look forward to your response

A Brown

The response too my email.....

personally not much cop to me.

Dear Ms Morton

Firstly thank for taking the trouble to right about what was clearly a less than acceptable experience.

To address the issues concerning you:

Firstly re incidents this weekend as you know having previously visited wasn't the norm- it was without doubt an extremely lively weekend as mentioned at time of booking, as we appreciated it was an event that perhaps did not suit all tastes. That said security was increased and unfortunately spent most of it's time dealing with bored youths who wondered through on the right of way or inconsiderate individuals who decided they were exempt from the Park Rules.I am saddened to hear that you felt security was less than helpful as we generally get reports to the contrary but this will be addressed.

With regards to facilities unfortunately the Events Field toilets are currently supporting a water leak elsewhere which has resulted in the ladies out of use- as regards to the others as we are inflicted with members of public who have no regard as to how to treat the facilities - we have therefore implemented checking sheets with a number to call in between cleans if facilities have been abused- Had we been called this would have been immediately addressed so again I can only apologise.

With regards to the event whist proved a spectacle actually did not cause the issues we found ourselves dealing with this weekend - rumours were suggesting the event three years prior that apparently was a Max Power event and proved a complete nightmare , although there was Max Power on the literature their only involvement was sponsorship- The Organisers were totally unrelated and to be honest did everything I had asked them to do to ensure the event did not get out of hand

Re the incidents documented re the residents these will be dealt with as this sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable, and if repeated will result in evictions.

We always take our customer feedback very seriously always implementing new measures to guarantee a pleasurable stay wherever possible- hence CCTV coming plus on going conversations re the right of way.

I appreciate you were happy with a free night what I would prefer is your return complimentary for a full weekend at a time of your choice (subject to availability) This is valid for 12 months should you wish to wait until next year for the opening of the complex.

Thank you once again

Kind Regards

Karen Joseph

my suggestion is the following:

1. she proof reads and learns to spell.

2. direct us to where this telephone number is to report vandalised toilets

3. next huge event she is actually on site to experience the trouble.

4. why have they not issued a final warning to the dog owner

5. not answered the question of speeding and drink driving

6. how will cctv make things better when the current cctv doesnt do much

7. at what stage did we agree we wanted a complementry night? we dont want to come back, how about a refund or even half of it back?

just my 2 pence worth.

my response too her....

has any one else sent in complaints?

Karen,

Thankyou for taking the time to respond to my email, although you have addressed many of the points that i brought to your attention in the first email, you have not mentioned any thing to do with the drinking, drugs and driving whilst under the influence of these! This behaviour is by far unacceptable when there are young children, as well as other pedestrians walking through the camp site, although it was mentioned that people were having their keys removed from them, at one point a security van was following a car that clearly was not doing 5mph as it is marked on the roads through the site. A sign up down near the "walk on water" mentions the amount of drink drivers caught last year, yet there seems to be no action about dealing with them.

In respect too the vandalisim on the toilets, it was brought to the attention of secuirty when speaking to them on passing, and reassurance that they would sort this with the cleaner, we were still waiting for improvement on the situation by the time we were leaving the site sunday lunch time, and dare not to use the showers.

I accept your dealing with the residents, although my dog was not left with any open wounds he does have briusing and is taking time to revert back to him self, i dread to think what could happened if this residents dog had got hold of a small dog or worse a child??

CCtv may enable you to monitor and see things before they happen and control is loss as it was clearly this weekend. although security was very out numbered and police were on site, i have no complaints in how the head of security, his name passes me, was fantastic with dealing with the trouble we encountered, and the female and male we stopped when our dog had been attacked also dealt at first with professional standards, the main complaint with security is that of the female officer with blonde curly hair, it was her that did not appear to know how to difuse a situation and deemed to make it worse, with her snide comments and lack of understanding and respect for us that she had dealings with.

Also what of the state of the lakes and running water through the site, which people deemed suitable for litter bins, and the dog mess left buy thoughtless owners? who is responsible for this, as it is a disgrace and not nice to look at and a worry as i said for the animals left to live with it.

Finally, we were unhappy with the offer of a free night, and will not be taking the offer of a free weekend when we have been left so very disgusted at the weekend we have had, and left with the feeling of being in a war zone, its safe to say it was a nightmare, and would prefer compensation in form of a refund for the expense of what we paid to experience this total nightmare, and no amount of free offers to stay will make us change our minds in coming back, as our family would be on edge and feel unsafe at all times. After the run ins with the less than savoury residents, with returning whats to say that they would not wish to rectify the complaints made about them by taking it in to there own hands.

As i have said in my previous email, it saddens me that i have to send emails to you of such disgust.

regards

My e-mail to billing:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to express my disgust and concerns about my weekend at Billing Aquadrome on the weekend of the 26th to 28th June 2009 with a few friends with a car club I am involved with.

After having driving nearly 360 miles from Edinburgh I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend away with my wife and friends from the car club, we were aware there was a car show (ignition extreme) on at the same time as our trip and reassurances and the fact we were moved away from the action so not to be associated with the car show proved a good move.

On the Friday night one of my friends was assulted by a "so called resident of the site" just for walking his dog the so called resident claimed that the dog ran in front of his car even through the dog was on a short lead, once security disfused the situation everything was well.

Saturday evening everything kicked off with riots, toilets getting wrecked and our group felt afraid and to make matters worse another "so called resident's dog" attacked our groups dog, if that was a child it would not bear thinking about and I counted at least four or five kids in our camping area at Swan Fields, yet again security came in and tried to twist the situation about our dog running wild (you do have to let a dog run around for a wee bit!)

Needless to say my Wife had just left to go to the bathroom (men's toilet, as she was afraid to walk over to where the trouble was kicking off and the lack of other toilets being closed at a certain time of night/closed for refurbishment) when the dog attacked if she was there and she has a fear of dogs it certainly could have attacked her and this resulted in her spending most of the night up scared wondering what would happen next, I beleive the saturday night incident never resolved till at least 4am sunday Morning!!

Another problem was the car show campers driving round the car campsite at more than 5mph while under the infulence of drink/drugs, this could have caused a accident if a child ran out.

I feel that myself any my wife should be refunded or part refunded for the trouble caused at Billing as we have never expericened this in our lifes and have never felt so scared.

We will not be recommednding Billing Aquadrome to our friends and have spoken to one of them, it seems that drinking/drug taking at car shows seems to be the norm annd trouble seems to flare up.

Look forward to hearing from you?

David K Watters

Awaiting a reply as we speak.

Cheers

Davy

swmbo got an email back offering a refund but with a £25 admin fee which i think is out of order. Even if you look at their forum the residents are all unhappy too. According to swmbo's reply they were in talks with the police and security today over the weekend events, now in my books for police to want a meeting to discuss things shows it was serious and not a great sucess that they at billing described the weekend.

One of our neighbours was about to book up yesterday and after swmbo told them about the weekend they have cancelled and will be booking elsewhere (think at the place by white horse hill that we going to in september). They were horified and as they have a small dog and two young children they dont want to put their children in danger by going anywhere near Billing.

Again my answer to the woman who is obviously on another planet, silly woman

like your mail davey..

Karen,

Thank you for taking the time to contact me back.

How ever on discussing this refund and the admin fee with my husband, we are disgusted to be offered a refund minus an admin fee, when we wish the refund for no fault of our own, when was in the office discussing my complaint with a lady, to younger females were given a full refund, for the weekend and no admin fee.

If I was to make a purchase/refund in a shop, I dont not get an admin fee for this. so why should we expect to pay a fee for your company to give us a refund on what was a horrific time in the hands of your company, I have also read some more literature on billing aquadrome, and it says about Land rover having a show there when due to previous trouble i know that this is not the case and they will not be holding further shows on your site, and have this from a member of staff, and a member of the club whom I work with.

We feel that a refund with no admin fee is more satisfactory, should this not be done to satisfaction then i would like this to be dealt with by a senior to a satisfactory resolution, should this not be the case, I have contacted my local citizens advice, who had advised me to take this complaint to the Northamptonshire trading standards and allow them to deal with this. for reference the amount paid was £40, and the amount paid on card, in my husbands name Mr P brown, and wish the amount to be refunded to the card.

I look forward to a more satisfactory response from you, or as stated will take this to the trading standards, and then contact the local paper in your area and see how other members of the public feel at the disgusting result to a genuine complaint.

Regards

ive must have told about 200 different people so far this week about the baghdad, sorry billing weekend, plus my facebook friends the 100,000 members here... surely they dont want the local papers and possibly a national paper to add to it??? still i learnt years ago on a customer liason type course that a complaint is only the tip of an ice berg and on average each person who has a bad experience tells 10 more, who tell 5 who tell 2 and who then tell two then 1, so about 3000 people eventually find out about one bad word. now basing it on here a good million or two will know about it and the land rover site a friend is on would love to hear why they chose not to go back there this year.

Just waiting to hear back from someone who has a contact within northamptonshire police to confirm figures etc. Just wondering if any other campsite in the uk can claim to fame they had to kick off 200 people in one night, get offically closed down for the night by the police and have over half a dozen vans hit the site, unmarked cars and riot squad all in attendance too.
