New Exhaust available for VRS soon......

Featured Replies

Right. As I'm a Freedom member and I use to run my own VW based mailorder parts company for bits and pieces. I've been in touch with an exhaust manufacturer to question them about why there isnt a VRS system available in their range!

So I've just got off the phone with Neil @ Jetex about the possibility of adding a system to the catalogue.

We need some information from you guys - as its going to be you who is buying it!!

What tailpipe style??

Stainless or Mild steel??

They are going to use my car as a template and see if they can either get them manufacturered & how much they are going to cost.

If this goes ahead they would like a group buy to be posted to ensure that they arent wasting their time!

Add your name if you are interested in a system!

I also need a few under car shots of what the std exhaust looks like - anyone got any?

If the price was right i would be interested in one. It would have to be stainless, and i think an oval tail piece with an inward lip would be nicest, not to big though, something not hugely bigger than standard perhaps? Sometimes i think the 6 x 4 on the magnex is a bit big for the recess so maybe somethng slightly smaller than that. Just my opinion obv.

Neil Jones ?.......top fella

either same as magnex / blueflame but a wee tad smaller.... or like miltek but a bit better looking :o

Yeah - I mentioned to them something OEM looking in size and style, just a little larger!

Neil Jones ?.......top fella

thats the one!

Cheap, de-catted and stainless :)

Similar tailpipe to what is standard too

Stainless, slightly larger bore, standard tailpipe or twin rounds

I'll try to get some pics tomorrow. Its a fairly basic exhaust, no centre boxes but iirc there is no joins, just one straight pipe from the cat.......

I would also be interested if price/style is right? same comments as before same style as the OEM one but slightly bigger!

big 10" tip that i could fit a dog up.

only joking. yer if price is right other wise im off to exhaust uk and gettin a custom job done.

Im on board if the price is right, I like the twin pipe look and stainless steel.

These help you any?! Yep dead simple exhaust, but no joins from the tailpipes to the cat. A nice de-cat with a larger bore system and a nice subtle, OEM looking tailpipe, or maybe a short side exit letterbox...:D

I would be interested in this also -

Any chance it could be made out of titanium with a carbon fibre back box ? I need to loose weight :D

Definately interested, and if he needs another guinea pig im your man, lol!

Would be looking for a single 6 x 4 or possibly a 4" or 5" round end.

Definately would be stainless.

Would also like a better, more petrol like burble, if at all possible on a diesel.

Thanks Polo6n1600i and Neil at Jetex for doing this. I will be waiting for a you tube video showing off the new system.

I hope to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later! See if i can get a weeks holiday to help out with my car!

I've just been on the jetex site and found these:-

Ibiza 1.8T system (Stainless)

VW Polo 02> system (Stainless)

VW Polo 02> system (mild)

Is it me or is the Polo system pretty close?? All you would maybe have to do is remove the first long silencer??

If you want quality, have a look HERE ;)

I think it will be better quality than that - no need to panic!

"Is it me or is the Polo system pretty close?? All you would maybe have to do is remove the first long silencer??"

Well it is the same chassis, so minor adjustments to that should do it. Just needs a bigger tail pipe. :D

to save weight just have a pipe nothing else. Losing the cat & backbox and replacing with just pipe will save several kilos. :)

Will also be heard within a 2 mile radius, lol

Stainless, Tri-Oval tip, no cat.

Ok spoke to Neil again about how close the Polo system looks to the VRS original system. We were discussing how low the Polo system would sit on the hangers and if the tailpipes would sit in the cutout on the bumper.

Anyone out there got a std VRS system in reasonable condition that Jetex could uplift to compare to the Polo System that they already have?

interested if price is right it would have to be stainless with a 3 or 4 inch round slashed tail piece
