Fabia RARB

Featured Replies

Afternoon All,

A quick question about rear anti roll bars. I have a standard Vrs and was wondering whether the anti roll bar (the one that fits underneath) is worth it with standard suspension?

Also do people prefer the whiteline or jabba ones? (already done the search and seen loads of opinions, just interested in peoples thoughts with standard suspension)

Thanks for reading,

James

General concensus is that Skoda should have fitted the anti roll bar as standard.

A lot of people run with standard suspension + anti roll bar and are delighted with the results.

If you're not going to be hooning it around a track all the time and wanting to get the tail out, people seem to think that the Whiteline one is fine. Personally I purchased the Jabbasport one because I read that it was better made and did it's job better - but some people complain that the jabbasport one is slightly too good at what it does.

Personally I haven't had any such problem with it and am delighted with the results. I am on standard suspension other than the Jabba ARB and uprated wishbone bushes. I think that for £207 (what I got the roll bar for delivered a few months ago), the improvement in car stability and handling is amazing - and definitely well worth it with standard suspension.

Remember to take in to account the increase in insurance premium - I had to wait until I was a bit older before I could fit mine and get insured with it fitted.

i have recently put on the whiteline arb fantastic results for every day road use

Thanks folks, excellent answers and pretty much made up my mind now to go for the Whiteline one

the jabbasport one is slightly too good at what it does.

I can't believe I read that. :D The Jabba one is damn awesome though!

I don't think that - personally I think it's smack on and how the car should have handled to begin with.

Jabba .- does exactly what is says on the tin

or box

or on their website

I like

I was following a bus the other day and the RARB was roughly 52mm in diameter.........

I've got the whiteline on - 3 different settings - got it on the medium at the moment. lots better than the standard setup.

Handling is much better, more stable in tight corners. Much more confident around the twisty bits!

Whiteline gets my voet too. I have one on my mk4 ibiza and it is very good.

Jabba is excellent. I run it on standard suspension. Worth every penny. Much better than eibach springs/dampers.

@ above : now thats a bold statement

is the jabba rarb better than fk coilies?

coilovers will not sort out the general bodyroll associated with the rear beam setup. :) Else, why would they bother with a front ARB then? :) The ARB needs to be considered as a totally separate element of the car's rear end, even though it is bolted to the bottom of the struts.

As the reviews from an esteemed member here states the Jabba RARB is "**expletive** awesome" :D

Have to agree - I had mine fitted as i was at Jabba for a remap anyways and it totally transforms the car even on the standard suspension. Much more pointy, understeer is much more predictable and the body movement controlled to a tee - so much more confidence in pushing the Fabia hard than I was in my MK4 Ibiza TDi Sport!

I think Jabba or Whiteline you'll really notice the difference!

Hi

I have the Whiteline one on the front and rear

The rear was the first to go on

:D wow , so much more fun going over Woodhead pass now

Mine was fitted just after the STR.T kit was fitted

Then I had the front one fitted as my standard front ARB was gone

Now next time it comes in for a service , it is going to be set to the highest setting

The Whiteline one is superb!!!!

I just could never bring myself to part with alot of money , I am tight you see ;)

But I must admit , the rear ARB is well worth it , no matter which one you go for

Insurance premium?? you what? So fitting something that makes the car more stable and safe puts the permium up? I wouldn't have even considered declaring an ARB until I read that, and I was about to order and fit the whitelines one asap. Now I'm not so sure. Anyone any thoughts on this insurance issue?

Most insurance companys ask "is your car modified?" or "is it a standard as manufacture car?"

Any modifications to your vehicle that change it from standard should be declared to your insurance company; and will probably push the premium up.

Otherwise your policy is probably invalid.

I know my "modified car insurance" including RARB and remap was a couple of hundred quid more expensive than a standard policy.

And yes even if its a mod that actually improves that car (better suspension, bigger brakes) and makes it safer over all. Not sure of the official view point but I look at it that insurers see it uping the likelyhood of fast driving and thus more chance of an accident making you more of a risk.

Ah poo, I'm with SwiftCover and they don't allow any mods of that type according to the FAQ's. Oh well! Thats saved me 200-300 quid on RARB and premium hike.

Cheer for clearing that up.

I hate insurance firms as well, so am not going agaisnt you. I think a lot of what the insurers do is rubbish. One firm I was looking at stated wheel trims as a mod. How on earth that makes a differnce I dunno.

From thier point of view you have improved the handling/stopping of the car and as such are able/more likely to push it harder and drive faster. As a result of this they will put the premium up despite the safety factor. At the end of the day all they are trying to do is fleece you for as much cash as possible.

*Edit*

Opps, didn't see PastyBoys post.

@ above : now thats a bold statement

It's the truth :)

There was no increase in premium with Norwich Union Direct when I had a Jabba RARB fitted, nor for full leather trim by Seat Surgeons.

im with Highways Via Andrian FLUX and all Mods are coverd on my policy. The addition of any NO BHP mods is no incease on the cost, but I MUST TELL THEM. If i Crash and I hadn't told them of the RARB then my insurance is VOID.

It is all about getting an insurance company who understands mods. SWIFT cover are aimed at the standard car market and all then repair centres will be for standard specs. Highways (my insurance) are aimed at the modified market and understant the mods and reapire centers will also understand them as well.

Tip Renew with Adrian Flux :)

Thats not fair. I got a years no claim bonus, which DL tried to deny, then the price went up repeatly due to a series of their mistakes!
