Mongrel passed emissions test today

Featured Replies

Very happy with that! Passed with flying colours too, not just marginal

I noticed last night that after filling up with a fresh tank of tesco diesel (and Millers of course ;)) that the smoke was a lot less than before. My last tank was Shell basic diesel so I wondered if it was poor fuel.

Just need to get the rest of the MOT sorted now, and ensure I stick to tesco diesel :D

Good stuff Jason

Weird about the fuel though...........

3.5 is a fail apparently and mine did a 1.56.

I used Diesel Extra as it is now only 1p more than the stock derv, and as Tesco does not accept AMEX I dont use them :P

I was about to ask 'What emissions test?', but as you mentioned less smoke I assume you mean the smoke test. Had me all worried there about a new test. :)

Mine passed even with it smoking like b*ggery due to a sensor fault (on the PD100).

I'm pretty sure the Mongrel does not smoke anywhere near that bad mostly, didn't it pass when you were running the 'smokescreen' in the past?

Mine always smokes more when i fill up at Shell. Usually fill up at Morrisons as its across the road and it seems to ran alot better on that,. Dont have to clean the exhaust half as much lol

My mongrel keeps passing wind, doesn't half wiff :(

LMAO

I always fill up at shell and my car doesnt seem to smoke that much, as the saying goes no smoke no poke lol :D

had a feeling it would be fuel, seen it before on a diesel lorry and a few bottles of moisture remover stuff on a low tank and then fresh fuel later on seemed to sort it. good news for you then jase!!!

I just had MOT test and it says that test limit is 3.00 - for reference, a standard '04 ASZ engined Fabia vRS with 62k on the clock did 1.22 ;)
