KW v3s How low can ya go

Featured Replies

Just wona see if any1 no's how low ya can go wit the extra bump stops still in and if ya go to low will this mean your just driving around on the bump stops all the time making the suspension pointless.

Mine won't go lower then 25" that's frrom the ground to the arch and wit 18s on a 40profile.

Mine are right down (worn driveshafts be damned !). I'll do the measurement when I get back tonight Smithy.

When I get the 18s though I'll be raising them a few turns as the front arch is v v tight  . For some reason the back ones have a bit more clearance to the arch liner.

Then again I could raise them back up to normal height which will probably same on wear and tear and make it handle better :) Doesn't get so many wtf is that a Skoda looks though :):)

Wind them down too much and you'll:

1) put holes in your arch liners.

2) knacker you drive shafts.

...too much is less than 2 fingers width.

3. Fit Sumpguard, others have holed theirs

...and the quality of that blacktop is atrocious Des :)

Right then... lowest it will go on KW 2s (after they've settled) is 24" on the front on 17s. It would go lower but that would involve letting the tyres down.

Backs are 1/2 inch higher. I think you could go a touch lower on the back by removing the purple adjusting thread thingy ma bobys completely.

I lowered it a bit further than on that picture at the weekend and set my rear ARB to it's stiffest setting.

After a spirited drive home I have decided to return the ARB to its medium setting and raise the KWs about half an inch on the front. I think the front tyres are scrubbing a bit and the car seems to want to go in a straight line rather than round bends.

What I like is that it's fun to experiment and coilovers give you that possibility :):):)

If you want to go snowplough low then I have read in MAX POWER that airbags or hydraulics are the ones to go for :sofahide: :saythat: :saythat: :peepwall:
