SDHC memory card question?

Featured Replies

ive finally got round to ordering myself a panasonic fz28 and ive ordered it in a buddle deal and it comes with a 16gb sdhc class 6 memory card, but today at work a lad who i work with who likes to think he knows everything said that that camera would not be able to cope with a memory card that big.

is that true or false?

cheers

What did you pay for your bundle deal?

Mine worked out cheaper to just buy the camera and get the cards on e-bay where I also found a small case for it cheap

is that true or false?

Direct cut and paste from FZ28 manual

SD Memory Card (8 MB to 2 GB)

(Formatted using the FAT12 or FAT16

format in compliance with the SD

standard)

• Fast recording and writing speed

•Write-Protect switch A provided (When

this switch is set to the [LOCK] position,

no further data writing, deletion or

formatting is possible. The ability to

write, delete and format data is restored

when the switch is returned to its

original position.)

SDHC Memory Card (4 GB, 8 GB,

16 GB, 32 GB)

¢

(Formatted using the FAT32 format in

compliance with the SD standard)

The rate things are going I reckon we should ask the mods for a FZ28 subforum :D

i just paid £270 for the camera, carry case, spare battery and 16gb sdhc memory card. Im quite new to all the technical stuff so dont quite get what you mean anonymouse, do you mean i need to format the card with the camera before i start using it?

Usually they're already formatted.

I just banged mine in and away I went.

I'd included all the text from the manual - really it was just the portion in red I meant you to read.

BTW I recommend you get another card as backup - be nothing worse than having one fail on you when you go somewhere and really 'need' those pics. Same with another battery - you can get 'compatible' ones quite cheaply if you do a search.

Just my opinion on the spare card and battery of course.
