Featured Replies

NEW DETAILS

Hi All,

I have been looking at getting some Legal Pressed plates from dubmeister. I have now been made aware that there is currently a GB on uk-mkivs forum.

for details see here http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/t/257271.aspx

The deal is as follows,

legal pressed plates BSAU145d compliant see here for details Dubmeister - Where performance meets style!

They are normally £29.99 a pair with postage of £6.90 (or collection if near by)

They can do a group buy of 20 for £20 a pair. £6.90 postage.

Please Note - BRISKODA and it's Staff are exempt from any legal liability if problems arise from the buy. This buy is not an offical BRISKODA organised buy and therefore BRISKODA or it's Staff, CANNOT be held responsible for any wrong doing that may occur.

Cheers all!

That's good. I got a single rear plate for £15 through a local place that goes via Dubmeister. Very nice quality plate too.

How are you going to get around the issue of Dubmeister needing to see the V5 / license (originals!) of everyone on the group buy? It's one reason I went to someone locally, to ensure I got the BS AU 145d marking, along with the Dubmeister stamp & postcode.

Does the GB price include postage? It's not clear.

Also, re Jason's question - do they have to see originals, or would faxed copies satisfy them?

Interested, as was thinking about some from them today, but subject to total price :)

Thanks,

Steve

Sorry have just added the postage too the price :o

Im going to ring them tomorrow at lunch to see if they can lower the postage but i doubt it. I will also double check about if we need to send copies or the real thing. But speaking to a mate who has been involved with a group buy on another forum i believe they will give us some code to add to the comments in the payment process to use the discount.

Sorry for not being fully prepared :D i will update all details when i have them fully, just thought i would get a thread going in the time being!

Thanks

No worries, cheers for the quick response. If postage is in addition, £6.90 does sound quite steep for two bits of metal in the post :)

Cheers,

Steve

When I got mine they had to see the originals. Not sure how it works going on mail order. Pretty sure in this day & age, they need to ensure they're doing legal plates for legit cars. :)

I have my name down for a set as there is currently a GB over on UKMKIV.

Dubmeister will take either faxed or scanned/emailed documents. They only do the legal plates and don't do the shortened versions anymore.

Cheers for this i was hoping thats what they would say, ill still check price details and how to go about this tomorrow.

Thanks

I'm in if it's £20 plus P&P but £31.90 for a pair of plates would still be a bit to heavy for me.

For anyone still wondering I'd say just do it.

They really do look the dogs danglies IMHO

Here's a couple on my cars....

UPDATE just got off the phone for Dubmeister, the offer is as it stands above but the postage is £4.00!

A fax/copy off the license is ok as long as they can get the details from it they need.

And for paying/buying, you go online as normal but i will supply Dubmeister with a list of people and when the orders come through they will refund the discount!

Hope this helps!

just got the postage lowered :D

I recently had really bad service from dubmeister when I ordered some number plate surrounds, I'm still waiting for it to be resolved and I've had to get my bank involved. Also when I saw the payment on my statement I found out they are actually TSR Performance, if I'd have known that before placing the order I wouldn't have touched them.

That is a shame :( but to be honest I have heard only good things? a mate at my work has had some pressed plates from Dubmeister made for his golf and they look great! (thats why i want some )

Also there are many people on here that seem to rate them :confuse: so fingers crossed they should be good unless i here many other members complaining???

I got my first set of plates direct from Dubmeister as part of a previous GB on here.

The 2nd set were manufactured by Dubmeister but supplied via a local company who act as their agent to check documentation etc.

In both cases everything went very smoothly - I would have no hesitation in recommending them based on my own experiences.

Having spoke to Dubmeister last week i was told they had recently bought the company so i presume it may have been purchased by TSR?

Having spoke to Dubmeister last week i was told they had recently bought the company so i presume it may have been purchased by TSR?

I had only heard good things about Dubmeister before but that could explain the poor service as I've only ever heard bad reports of TSR, one of which was on here when they went bust and left a member with a non-running car having taken a large sum of their money.

Can't say I'd have anything to do with anything that is related to TSR assuming it's the same people running the show.

Deleted!

Looks like I'm pulling out of this one as I've just squeezed in with the UKMKIVS group buy as I need them asap.

Thanks

I don't think these plates have the legal laser markings on them that the dubmeister ones have.

You're right with that.

I was considering buying them from him but no markings of who made the plates etc and it doesn't actually say on the auction that they are legal to be fair.
