Cambelt timing kits?

Featured Replies

Just had a quick look around on here and noticed some people have brought their own timing kits and then got them fitted by the dealer.

Are most dealerships happy to do this?

Can anyone tell me how much they are for 05 fab vrs and where i can get them?

I've found the site Trade Parts Specialists which have a 10% off on these ktis atm but you need to be a member with them, anyone on here a member??

Also can anyone tell me where i can get the waterpump with metal impellor from and again roughly how much am i looking at for this.

Many thanks all.

also, whats this about exchanging your old pump for the new one you get some cash back??

Hello there, I am pretty sure you will have to be in the motor trade or at least know someone in the motor trade that has an account with TPS to get your parts, I have a friend who works for Halfords who have an account with TPS so they booked the bits to halfords.

As for the water pump i decieded againt the metal impellor pump as after a bit of research it became apparent that metal impellor is not a neccessity just an extra peace of mind thing. But if you want a metal impellor then its a QH (Quinton Hazell) you want and these you will have to source from a local motor factors and as far as i know its not an exchange/cashback basis for these pumps.

But i got an OEM pump from TPS and their basis is exchange/cashback, basically what you do is get the part and say for instance you pay them £50 you then have 14 days to fit the part and take the old pump back to them where they will give you say £25 back. So if you dont take it back you will lose the whole £50. I would imagine the price you pay and the price you get cashback will vary from dealer to dealer and TPS's depending on if they give you discount and how much discount.

Let us know if you need any more help

Cheers.

You dont have to be in the trade to buy from TPS.
