OIL....help a div day

Featured Replies

Guys....

PLEASE could someone, in plain english, tell me EXACTLY what oil is needed for my Furby vRS. I'm keeping my eye on the dipstick and want to be prepared to top it up when needed (could actually do with some now).

I posted a thread on here last week, and someone very helpfully pointed me to previous threads on this subject BUT I'm no more wise. The general consensus is that 505.01 oil is needed, BUT having spoken to my dealer today he told me to go for 0.30 or 10.30??????

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN, is there a difference between 505.01 to 0.30 or 10.30 oil????? If so, why am I getting different opinions, does it even matter???

More importantly, can someone just recommend me something I can pick off the shelf at say Halfords????

I'm really not that thick, its just that this diesel engine thing is new on me, now petrol engines I can talk all day about, but I wont.

cheers fellow furbs :)

carefree ;)

You need an oil that either meets of exceeds the oil standard 505.01.

Your dealer sells it, (usually in white bottles) Miller also sell a PD oil but it quite hard to find.

cheers Ross, trouble is my dealer is some 25 miles away, and in London, dont fancy a trek just for oil if I can get it local.

superb Ross, good man  I will visit my local (crap...I know) VW dealer tomorrow..

Once again the good people of Briskoda come up trumps.... :D

When I picked up some of this oil from my dealer they seemed to take ages trying to work out which one it was for the 130 PD engine. I think I paid about

2018.attach

The coats are handy, and the velcro stops it sliding around in the boot.

And I thought it was to keep it warm in winter :D

See Millars website for a dealer in or near your post code its approx
