Boost problems

Featured Replies

(or excpect to have another VAG car after) then it is £100 well spent.

Version 409 doesn't cover the newer CAN protocol.

Which means it's only good until 2005ish models iirc

Fatty5000 makes a valid point.

Even then though, Rosstech will offset the purchase price of your 409.1 kicense against a newer version if yu upgrade. Good guys.

@jmf Overboost limp would cure itself on the move after a while. What is your peak boost pressure?

Was 1.4bar last I checked (a while ago). I did a quick scan tonight and all i got was a "17536 - Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Mult): System too Lean" "Intermitted" error message, which I cleared and it didn't come back immediately. I'll scan again tomorrow and look at block 032 for trims, couldn't do it tonight because it was a different laptop with shareware vag-com :o

Thats the code I got (along with limp mode) when my MAF was dieing. Changed the MAF and it hasn't returned.

Where did you get your maf from Lex? may need one car seems bit down on power done 81k now. thanks.

I went to a VW dealers as I have one 10 mins away on foot. Took my old MAF with me and got £20 refund on the new unit. Come to about £78 with vat

Cheers mate!

Massive THANKS to ALL for your help & advice... Fitted a brand new VAG N75 & everything seems A-OK :D

Thank you to Chicken & IEP for the information on the VAGCOM software no need to sell my VRS :D & the grirlfriend has just bought a 2.0TDI A3 auto which I have to say is a lovely car to drive, so the software will be money well spent

Just a couple of other things, I am asuming the N75 being faulty would affect fuel economy?

I have also read on the site about cleaning the MAF as this can cause bad fuel consumption, is this advisable? after all the car has covered 97000 miles I have owned it since 52000 & for 3 years now & to my knowledge it has never required replacement

Again thanks

Alex
