new milotec carbon b pillar covers

Featured Replies

Looks nice and tidy, but a bit shiny for me - or is that just the photos and perhaps the flash bouncing off?

Like the use of the Audi gearknob too - which model is it from and was it a direct swap?

Steve

Agree with Steve on both... info on the gearknob???

TIA

Pretty certain it's from an B6/B7 shape A4, but I'll wait for confirmation :)

So that's what the Octy 2 section has come to, a bunch of knob spotters :)

Back on topic, looks like a really good job on the carbon

Yes, wandering a little there

The carbon wrapping does look very tidy indeed; good to see it's possible to coat surfaces with this stuff successfully and with 100% coverage

Returning fully to topic ;) - just had a reply from one of the two 3M UK distributors, Spandex (great name!):

Thank you for your enquiry regarding Di-Noc.

Unfortunately this is not a product we supply.

Another bit of info, this was the thread I was thinking of with respect to interior carbon covering. Would seem it's a slightly different product to the 3M stuff mentioned above. Not sure whether it's durable enough for exterior coverings either. From my albeit brief Di-Noc research, 3M seem to offer different variants for internal and external application.

Thanks Wardy - saved me the trouble of e-mailing them! I was suspicious when their website had no mensh of Di-Noc. I guess one had best contact the (numerous) agents listed across the Shamrock Sea?

With regard to the shininess ... there's a pic on one of the links (I think on this thread) that shows a Clio with the roof completely done out in the carbon-fibre repro stuff. The quality of the graphic repro is first class (ie it really does look like the real stuff), but it is very shiny indeed! Hence my being more interested in their semi-matt black lightly textured product which, from the photo sample, looks very similar to the stuff that Skoda sold for the MkI.

If I find a source I'll post.

PS: Strictly speaking Wardy, you haven't 'returned to topic', which was the Milotec product and it wasn't a film, more a solid stick-on accessory. I think we've rather hijacked the thread! However!

I think you may be referring to the stuff they do which is specifically for applying to windows (eg showrooms) and allows people inside to still see through (microperforated) - that stuff comes in an internal and external version. There's only one version of what we're talking about and it should I believe be OK for external (but perhaps a tad vulnerable to auto carwashes?)

Holy smoke, just had a reply from the other listed 3M UK supplier, William Smith. Think we might need one hell of a GB, so the link above from Germany might be better :D

We only stock a small selection of Di-Noc, unfortunately the PS-504 is a non stock item. We can order this in for you, minimum order is 1220mm x 50m @ £1172.90 or it may be possible that 1220mm x 12m rolls are available @ £309.64[/b']. Lead time is approx 4-5 weeks.

Steve

There are two main suppliers in Germany (which have good prices), one of them also sells over Amazon and the two are also selling over eBay. ;)
